for its tenth anniversary, killekill decided it is worth to resurrect the main label and bring it back in full effect with another compilation of tracks by our beloved family members, favorite artists and bestest friends. cat. number 020 was never released, and we thought, this celebratory occasion was perfect to fill that gap, so everything is cleared, and we can step into the next decade. we start off with a track by mmm, the legendary duo consisting of fiedel and errorsmith, known for pushing the boundaries with every of their very rare releases. this one is an extremely simple, but effective weapon to destroy all dancefloors with its slightly loutish appeal. neil landstrumm got together with brian rays and produced a bleeper hit with catchy vocals. we don t know who the lyrics refer to, but they definitely express a punky fuck-off attitude, which we are missing a lot nowadays.

enter the winking ship and go on a journey through the half-human-half-hyper-reality of david goldberg. emo serialism is a sparkling macrocosm of breakbeat wizardry, technoid trance, robo emotion and versicolour ornamentation. the eponymous first track with its safe ground baseline is the cotton wool of the ep, the galaxy’s aether and the joyful opening ceremony of this planetary feast. baseelmnt64 rings out! the stars align and the tournament begins. lightyears later, hobbling yet graceful konradichtion 101 is the daring darling of the public, thus emerges victoriously. and the moral of this story is made for / left for blank.

front left records founder elad magdasi is next to appear on sinfols anagram label with four stirring cuts entitled liquid dreams this june. originally hailing from tel aviv, magdasi moved to berlin in 2013 where he has immersed himself in the scene whilst honing his craft in the studio. primarily a platform for his own productions, he launched front left records in 2015 and later debuted on anagrams phasing faces va in 2017 alongside anetha, d?vide and sinfol. he now returns to the label with a four track release of his own. liquid dreams opens the release with a mesmerizing spoken word sample, twinkling melodies and layered atmospherics whilst sporadic hats rattle throughout. thudding kicks, escalating synths and quivering bass then combine together in water damage before moving into the mesmerizing silver lights, which conjures up an otherworldly aesthetic courtesy of arpeggiated notes and crashing cymbals. lastly, never let go exhibits a cacophony of elements such as crystalline chords and a meandering bassline that generate a heightening suspense from start to finish.

when harold boue aka abstraxion invited fantastic man into his studio after playing together the night before he didnt knew he was planting the seed for a new project. as he recalls, it was a day of intense sun in marseille with not enough sleep, but the result was so great that it inspired harold to work on new tracks around the idea of creating music to reflect his city: a bit rough, but luminous and influenced by elements of mediterranean, african and northern european cultures. this has translated into a heavily percussive sound, in which tribal disco grooves invoke the spirits of voodoo-techno. three cuts driven by warmly distorted rhythms, bursts of primitive drums, rubbery synths and uplifting chants that overall feel like the first sunrays after an excursion through a dark cave: both blinding and blissful. the projects name is a tribute to the astrological sign of harolds son, who was born at the same time as the music on the ep. it was the definitive signal he needed to convince himself it was the right time to start something new and different. and an event that for sure helps understanding the vibes that this music transmits: as pure, fresh and powerful as only a new beginning can be.

scalameriya returns to perc trax after the success of 2016’s kepslok. since then he has continued to break new ground both as a solo artist and via his ongoing collaboration with italian producer vsk, playing across europe and releasing on a number of key labels whilst growing his own genesa imprint. now for his first release of 2018 he takes a giant leap forward both musically and technically with the three track statement of intent that is his hellzone megapunk ep. each track demonstrates new techniques and approaches not heard in his music before, from the 4/4 versus broken beat cage fight of the title track to crucible s rolling polyrhythms and the otherworldly processed vocals of the closing track. as the first perc trax release of the year this ep sets out everything the label seeks to achieve, a combination of sonic innovation that manages to keep attention fully focussed on the dance floor at all times.
