moving to a house formation, the fourth release from midnight shift combines the forces of detroit veteran terrence parker with small german hometowner simon hinter, plus an additional remix by turkish philogresz. covering the spectrum of the ever-evolving genre from classic to techy, jazzy to deep, it’s one for both the recently initiated and original house music lover.
one of the founding fathers of chicago house, himself a grandson to a dj and frequently alongside other greats such as ron hardy on the decks, gene hunt summons a 3-tracker for the midnight shift label. true house and techno direct from the source and in his own words, a rather ‘jungly’ take of it due to the tracks’ chaotic percussion. ‘feeling it’ takes you back to the original old school, with all the classic elements in place, it’s a house lover’s wet dream, 30 years after the fact. spector twists things up while keeping that pumping jacking groove a perfect intersection between then and now.scatter punches through the noise like a clarion call to arms - where are all our jacks and jackies at report to the dancefloor, please.

after emerging in spring, unità psicofisica takes a further step towards exploring music as a matter of perception with its second output, “collisioni sonore”, which widens the already disclosed principles of the label, celebrating the oneness of body and mind. combining the individual efforts of four artists whose musical output lies in the most ritualistic and awareness-expanding side of techno, “collisioni sonore” proves how collision might generate harmony.
*** check b2: !!! *** bath-come-london party purveyors, origins, take to channelling some of their creativity into the creation of their own origins label. at the helm for the debut release is bristolian up-and-comer tommosini. having heard move d unleash the beauty of another dimension at freerotation last year, origins knew they had to find out who the mastermind behind this deep house gem was and the rest, they say, is history. another dimension transports you through the galaxies via a combination of dreamy pads, crisp percussion, full-bodied bass and those sensual deep tinged vocals. future classic in the making. the a2 i dont stop carries on the u.s flavoured deep house with a vocal house track that wouldn t be out of place coming from the shores of chicago masterfully intertwining a bumping bassline, soft organs and those introspective, luscious vocals. flip it over and you re treated to two interpretations of another dimension. first up fellow bristol bass badboy, hodge, serves up a signature remix, chopping the vocals and layering them behind a pounding kick and machine gun percussion to give that bass heavy flavour hes become so well known for. deadbeat steps up to close out the ep with a heavyweight techno rework of the original, complete with hypnotic bleeps, phased hats, and intermittent sub bass goodness, all tied together with a driving kick to give a real industrial feel to the remix.
the second release is coming with 4 new-talented players: embezzlement society, daisuke kondo, lb aka labat and the game crew. following their various artist model, each producer delivers an organic crate based track, from blunted hip-hop to jackin’ house bangers with jazzy soulful grooves.

sean miller makes a triumphant return to seth troxler’s play it say it imprint with a new single that has already been getting played by tastemakers like luciano. in addition to the original, k’alexi shelby serves up a fine remix that makes this another vital package.
lithuanian based label sodai started its journey in 2016, making it a label still in its infancy but making a big impression. owned by artist gardens of god, who started the label to create his own no limits platform for his experimental sounds and projects. while at the same time a platform to give other artists the chance to also have freedom with art and music. with releases from raxon, few nolder and alex krell under their belt, they can announce the exciting debut from uk producer third son this april. ive been an admirer of gardens of gods music for a long time, when he asked me if i could do something for his imprint, i was more than thrilled! adds joseph. syncopes synths spread far and wide, making this a journey of a track, modulating and panning in and out, pushing and pulling along a percussive drive. his broad musical range can be felt in this mix, with its slightly hypnotic tones. irony has a punctuated low end, which creates a deep and dark groove. the synthetic elements in this track gain in attitude, on top of ambient pads, leading nicely into bach to close out the release. its driving and determined bass makes the backbone of the track, with a modulating hook line, along building and expanding frequency ranges. the whole package makes for a very strong first release from third son, and sodai are excited to be welcoming him to the family.

following the completely sold out ‘imagine – a – nation’ and ‘le fusion’ reissues, anotherday brings you a very special release from the vault of the enigma that is spencer kincy, aka gemini - we are very proud, and extremely excited to present gemini’s first 4 releases, lovingly re-mastered and packaged together in a very limited box set! originally released on relief records, the chicago techno label headed up by cajmere, these releases were gemini’s introduction into the worlds of house and techno, and contain some of his most vital works. as one of chicago’s most mysterious and revered characters, the story of gemini, aka spencer kincy has become something of a myth in recent years – blazing a trail throughout the 90’s, prolifically releasing over 200 tracks from 1994 to 1999, spencer’s music had shades innovation and soul few of his peers could match. then, suddenly, at the peak of his career, he disappeared.
as part of the ten-year anniversary dekmantel presents the final record in a ten-part-ep series. split into two parts due to its immensity, the final instalment is a re-issue of tony allens asiko (in a silent mix) originally released in 1999 and remixes by motor city drum ensemble and ricardo villalobos. the first part features a grandiose 29-minute ricardo villalobos version of the afrobeat masters cut. a true collaboration of giants.having been a regular at the festival for several years now, villalobos delivers a remix, one of his longest to date, that only he can produce. allowing the percussion to breathe into a monumental rhythm, villalobos warps the vocals, restructuring the bass and drums into a rolling dub-fusion of techno that is characteristic of his remixes to date, yet still breathtaking in its execution. afrobeat-minimalism, with dub-infused fire, and near psychedelic ambience that perfectly synchs the worlds of tony allen, and ricardo villalobos, two legends who’ve helped re-shape the face of music. highlighting the diversity of sounds that have come to represent the dutch label and festival series, the eps to date have encompassed a range of artists and genres, featuring label favourites, as well as whole bunch of debuting artists. the ep series kicked off in march 2018, and over the course of a year featured the likes of gigi masin, lena willikens, burnt friedman, donato dozzy, the egyptian lover, palms trax, and more.
“remains”, magda ter’s sophomore album, has been created over the past two years changing its shape several times. it is a compromise between static, experimental background music and soothing techno glimpses with some samples of acoustic instruments. as a result, the album has contemplative colours, although hidden beneath the surface of seemingly uninvolved sounds.
due to this fact ter’s music cannot be pigeonholed. one can even say that “remains” leaves the audience with a huge amount of space for their own feelings and interpretations of the individual sequences, while simultaneously dropping some vague cues. thus, we are dealing with one of the most intriguing electronic polish releases in recent years.

les graciés is a collaboration in the truest sense between paris-based sound artist gaël segalen and deepblak co-founder afrikan sciences. segalen’s experiments in electroacoustic sound met the wider world this year via a debut lp for erratum, an arresting work that showcases her ability to merge hypnotic murk ala angus maclise with the hard concréte of parmegiani & reibel. segalen’s ihearu imprint / organisation is a platform for her various doings, including psychogeographical audio works and multi-media collaborations, as well as servicing as a reference point for other contemporary female artists working across various mediums. eric douglas porter aka african sciences has been deconstructing and re-building forms of contemporary black music since the mid-2000’s, through releases on deepblak (the label he co-runs with aybee) and pan. his musical universe is one of warping cadences and celestial melody, referencing the bold work of percussionists like milford graves & art jenkins, the dissonant chords of motor city techno and stripped back essence of early chicago house matched with broken hard bop sentiments: all tied together with an aesthetic that sits somewhere between sun ra’s omniverse, jean giraud mœbius and dogon cosmology. together as le graciés, segalen and porter make a wholly unclassifiable strain of music that, while containing recognisable elements of each individual s work, also creates a third entity in the process, which can be heard to stunning effect on their forthcoming debut lp ‘low doses’ for firecracker recordings.

the desecration of desire is the first album in 14 years from techno heavyweight dave clarke. the follow up to his acclaimed 2013 album devils advocate the new album is a dark, ruthless journey including features by mark lanegan, mt. sims, gazelle twin, anika and louisahhh and reinforces his title as the baron of techno, a moniker given him by the late, great bbc radio dj john peel.
after twenty years at the center of the electronic scene, the enigma that is chlo? still stands. while chloe has long transcended her image as the dj behind legendary club night pulp, headlining the rex as well as clubs and festivals throughout europe, endless revisions represents yet another deviation from rigid genre classification, deepening the often-linear perspectives on current music. a rich and multi- faceted work, the artistas captivating third album drifts from one mystery to the other, harkening back to philosopher theodor w. adornoas maxim: the task of art today is to bring chaos into order.
every piece of paper has its own role in the big picture of a complex collage. every fractal structure finds the same pattern as we continue to zoom into it. apply these facts to the echoes and reverbs wrapped around the atmosphere that resides into distant dub references and you can catch a fair glimpse from the newest motif release.

apollo proudly presents a full release of the stunning debut album released by sw. sw s lush sound design and hypnotic arrangements nestles snugly alongside the classic 90’s apollo releases of biosphere and robert leiner in all their balmy glory. originally issued on vinyl only via sw’s own sued imprint, this apollo re-release represents something of a coup in that it’s the first of the label’s music to ever be presented digitally. as a label, sued has formed a reputation for releasing some of the most vital and sought after contemporary dance-floor vinyl, from both sw and svn, as well as collaborations and comradeship with other analogue obsessed auteurs such as dynamo dreesen (who teams up with svn as dresvn), dj sotofett, dj fett burger, pg sounds and club no-no, aka snorre magnar solberg.
ltd 50% deal ...significant success for artists is based on two things: talent and timing. dave.i.d has talent by the spadeful but his timing may also be spot on. when dave.i.d released his debut single in march 09 he was probably too ahead of the game but now as we enter the last third of 2010 it feels right on the money. daves initial release went down very well though. paul lester in the guardians important new band of the day feature totally lost it, calling dave.i.d >totally brilliant< and dubbing him >aphex timbaland<. his single was voted single of the year in dazed & confused and made the end of year round-up in drowned in sound. now with the amazing zola jesus setting up so well around the world and the dark electronica coming more to the fore outside its nerd roots, dave.i.d sounds perfectly in tune with the unhappy, troubled sound of now.
bespoke packaging using industrial blue plastic cut in a rhombus shape. the same blue plastic forms the backdrop to the live stage show.

nice price deal !!! follow up to dubsons release earlier this year comes a split ep from bocaje and serdal. bocaje is a talented young producer and dj out of france who has released on labels such as utique and recordeep. he brings a smooth yet distinctly intelligent flare to the a side with hypnotic dancefloor orientated rhythms and fat basslines. the b side features serdal, one of the co-owners of vayvay and masterminds behind the homemade party series, making him a well known figure in the nürnberg house scene. he offers the listener a breakbeat tool for the heads, aimed strongly towards after hour euphorics.
ltd summer deal ! supérieur goes for round two after its relaunch in autumn last year. some of you might be surprised that we re breaking up with the single release concept of having one original and one remix, but we believe the time has come to do so. supérieur will be more independent in the future, with an own artist roaster and also with a different sound than the one deliver with connaisseur. this release is by the highly respected south german producer and dj hans thalau, partisan of the techno soul approach, which was celebrated for years by russ gabriel and his ferox recordings crew. it comes as no suprise that hans and russ are friends. hans -soul adventure ep- is a timeless affair. three tracks full of emotional deepness and classiness, and probably thal communications mastermind best works so far. we re rather proud to be able to release these tunes, as they do strike our chord exactly.
new years deal - one of the most unconventional techno tracks which were released during the last years. catchy pop like and unbelivieable dark at the same time. h-friend starts at the peak and then progressively reduces itself into an intro that is actually the outro of this song. for their 12th release, fasaan recordings has dug deep into the techno underground of malm and found the drum machine anthems of frankie twilight. not your usual techno producer, the woman behind this alan vega-esque alias does not subscribe to any genre definitions. having played in a berlin-based punk band as well as acting as resident dj at a members only 78 rpm jazz club, to say her tastes are diverse is quite an understatement. the diy spirit is however a red thread throughout the 4 tracks of her synergy ep for fasaan

uncle tom’s tune needs all its 13 minutes to develop, with the melodic pattern fading in and out the wobbly baseline, like hiding from the sci fi sounds scattered throughout the track. crafted to please crowds that enjoy to be cooked slowly, milly van illy takes it to a more dynamic pace, stiching the groove beneath the percussions and storing all the energy into the hi hats. as for lady gargara, we’re gratified with a twisted cocktail of chopped voices stuttering on broken drum loops.
uncommon as it may sound, drag and drob ep is here to add some spice to your record collection.
selected advent deal, henrik bergqvist is back on aniara after releases on boss musik and trouble in paradise with some spaced-out house bangers and a revitalizing groove excursion on the flip. have a nice trip!
following on from the very robust debut of his own label failsafe, juxta position deviates back to the more melancholic aesthetic with which he initially made his mark back in 2013 on mistress recordings. drawing palpable influence from ambient electronica like boards of canada, he then reframes the aesthetic, with the help of rhythmic anchoring, on the 12 minute opening opus eureka. however, not to disappoint lovers of the slightly harder, more uptempo, electronic beat, the flip then dishes up two significantly more pressurised techno pieces, the former made in belgrade more linear, the latter reimagined more flamboyant.
new years deal - ca2+ first appeared on last years compilation scandinavian swords ii and gait cycle ep further showcase excellent, sterile and cerebral noise rhythms from this upcoming stockholm producer.

this is land of dance, we’ve reached the tenth release and we want to celebrate it with an album, fifteen tracks and artists divided into four vinyls (two double pack) including music by: seldom seen aka santiago salazar, jared wilson, ricardo miranda, nightjars aka analogue cops, healing force project, boston 168, drvg cvltvre, xxxv gold finger, jann, passenger and dave hargadon (slowburn) plus some new names such as: andrea vietti, seven sins and müskije lycheeni. the tracklist has been thought as a dj set that evolves from ambient to jazz to house to techno. this is land of dance!
cuplet makes a stomping return with its second release, set to become quintessential for the revived techno sound, leaving andrei ciubucs imagination running wild on this 2-tracker. both record sides, overwhelming in the low frequencies area, are painting a dark industrial canvas for andreis devilish signature groove, syncopated for strei2 yet harmonized within the bassline for cel putin.
smoky techno, cuplet style, coming soon on a dancefloor near you!
name in lights have been organising parties, djing, producing music and running their own label feed for a long time. fact is - they are kind of royalty back in stockholm. after releasing records on under the shade, free association, let s play house, as well as getting remixed by dr dunks and axel boman it s now time to present two tracks on omena. believe it or not but the ties between omena and name in lights go way back. all inclusive is that type or track you would either start or end the night with while post mortem sounds like dj koze and isolee would have a baby together. on this release there are two remixes which completely flip the originals. underground hero samo dj is a force to be reckoned with. with recent releases on the trilogy tapes, public possession and an album on snaker together with maxxxbass he found time to work all inclusive into something completely new. watch out for the end. finally label boss tooli delivers a remix filled with as much rhodes and conga as your heart desires.
special deal! it was a matter of time until john swing finally made his debut on warm sounds with three cuts in collaboration with the yet unknown david soleil-mon. considering john swing s previous material, this featuring defines a fresh approach to the composition. the signature raw grooves that have so far delivered stripped down, minimalistic house gems are now opening up to more meditative states of mind through a crafty combination of tones. every element sounds organically in its place: a1 delivers the right energy for the conscious dancefloor while a2 steps forward towards a more futuristic groove aesthetic. on the b side, searchin pleasures us with a lo-fi 11 min journey crossing over from dub to jazz while still keeping the signature house sound. definitely a turning point for john swing, who s now uncovering a new side of his faceted output. limited to 500 hand numbered copies.

releasing albums on perlon, ~scape, background and his own label süd electronic, portable has appeared on a string of highly credible imprints, with singles also landing on karat records, musik krause and yore records. spending his early years in cape town, portable moved to london, followed by lisbon, before finally settling in berlin. whilst in lisbon he also created his bodycode alias, and soon after dropped an album on ghostly internationals sister-label spectral sound. kick-starting his release on rhythm cult, * reeva numbers* is a dusky production complete with ethereal organ chords, offbeat stabs and subtle melodies. next, * only human* draws from the sound of the producers bodycode moniker, implementing more dancefloor-focused aesthetics with the help of shuffling rhythms, deep vocal moans and heady keys. concluding the release, * moving, trains and you* is the most minimal number of the package with rolling percussion, soaring pads and a heightening suspense.
wareika steps up for the amphias 12th vinyl chapter. the german trio walks off the beaten techno trail, applying just enough pressure on the bassline pedal to envelope your attention on the sinusoidal theme from break new sol, revealing at the end a rewarding guitar solo, hidden all this time under the crisp percussions. on a train again completes side a, with its industrial ambient modulations steadily stabbed by the derailed cadence.
sit reinterprets wareika on side b: a more dancefloor oriented take, with just a few breaks from the devilish rhythm, enough to give the crowd some time to breathe into the tracks odd atmosphere. wareika s playful harmony makes a great addition to amphias musical path.
