californian electronic pop duo peaking lights make a splash on dekmantel with sea of sand the bands first release in 2018. its a kaleidoscopic melting-pot of dainty dub, experimental and leftfield beats, with wondrous sunny soundscapes that blend together the unconventional home-fashioned electronics, and windswept vocals that have defined peaking lights to date. sea of sand is the band’s first record in three years not released on their own imprint. with six tracks, exceeding 30 minutes in total, the extended ep is a prelude to a forthcoming lp. with a diy aesthetic and approach to analogue instrumentalism, peaking lights retro-digital sound is one that sits perfectly with dekmantel.

former member of dublin punk band the threat, stano released his debut lp on scoff records in 1983. recorded in alto studios, the irish artist eschewed live performances in favour of fusing collaborative, improvised, experimental music with spoken word-poetry. the lp featured contributions from fellow irish musicians and artists such as michael o shea, roger doyle, donald teskey, vinnie murphy, detroit born jerome rimson and is a seminal document of irish postpunk

the sound recordings for jimi tenors sähkö movie got lost in mid 90s. it was only last spring warp records retrurned all the demo tapes jimi sent them in 90s. happily the sähkö soundtrack parts were on those tapes too. we decided to compile a soundtrack ep from them for mika vainios memorial in oslo in september 2018. all the tracks are from the actual movie scenes.
