recorded in an ageing holiday park during off-season, center parcs is the debut lp by dutch artists betonkust & palmbomen ii a conceptual, musical-tristesse full of lo-fi harmony, and fanciful, psychedelic-coloured modulations, with an undercurrent of saturated, outsider-house beats, all recorded to tape. with a shared passion for experimental music, and gnarled dutch electro, the duo have crafted an lp of esoteric-electronic-pop, reflective of the time the two spent holed-up in isolation, in the out-of-time center parcs setting

the safe trip organisation has been broadcasting their musical version of a traditional numbers station on the frequency 5079. human intelligence suggests the agent behind four regular, ear-pleasing transmissions is the safe trip associate artis. using a specially modified one-time pad, we were able to decipher these undercover operatives. the ethereal, dreamy, arpeggio-driven throb of panthera pardus, with its poignant tone and undulating lead lines, was clearly meant as a warning.. the same could be said of -cetacea-, where melancholic synthesizer sounds and meandering electronics gently wind their way around hybrid electronic/acoustic percussion. panic set in once we deciphered giganthopithecus, a composition littered with frequent increases in percussive intensity and a mind-altering melodic refrain. our hunch that artis was ordering immediate action by agents was confirmed by delphinae, whose colourful melodic fluidity, futurist new age construction and layered wooden drum hits deeply affected our researchers. we ordered our own agents to raid the station, but artis had long since scuttled off into the hazy morning sunshine.

the ny house trak brought joy to dance floors world wide in 2012 and beyond. with second hand copies now fetching for 40 euros and over, we thought it was time to serve you with a limited re-issue of both this club track and can you feel it? remastered and vocals on the a-side slightly adjusted this time round too! the ny house trak is cut on one side so you know what this means: extra loud pressing for ultimate sound quality. side b contains a previously unreleased instrumental!

gerry read steps up for the sophomore release on finns 2 b real label, mass media - four booty-indebted house tracks, as freaky as they are straight-forward. the a side lurches into action with a huge buzzy bassline on mass media, followed by eerie pads, pops and whistles on big boobs. the b side provides some breathing room with dreama that girl’s spacey chops and sauntering bassline, before pinky reaches a bouncy filter-house climax to close the ep.

the sixth release from the london-based sugarhouse imprint sees tekboys (label heads maurice jnr, jamie paul and seb miguel) bring forth a 4-tracker built for the floor. it’s already seen support from the likes of alex nut, bradley zero and bicep, amongst others, and looks primed to set alight basements and beach stages alike this summer. originating in 2015 with the much loved ‘magic mountain ep’ this low key, diy label has quietly been releasing hit after hit. alongside their much-coveted white label imprint ‘bouncin’, the guys from sugarhouse have picked up an impressive fanbase including bradley zero, alex nut, four tet, patrice scott, prosumer, kai alce and hunee to name just a few.

dutch pioneer mg (aka gert van veen) is responsible for a series of huge house classics to ever emerge from the netherlands: a-men s pay the piper, quazar s seven stars, house of venus dish & tell. the list is long. under his lesser known moniker zodiac trax, gert produced some of his moodiest material. released in 1992 in two parts, these beautifully crafted tracks remained fairly unknown up to this day. for this re-issue frame of mind selected the deepest tunes from the obscure series. a previously unreleased track called planet x is included!

changing tides ep is the fourth release of our kommuna tapes imprint. the a sides features two breaky, electro-infused tracks from undersound affiliate chris geschwindner, while the flipside goes back to the roots: adam collins, half of legendary tech-house golden era duo omni am, brings us impeccable groove, and early 00s deep house icon seafoam allows us to trip up through the early evening or morning hours.

track by track, we build a kommuna of artists who share our insatiable appetite for music discovery, guided by a certain vision of the dancefloor: deep stripped-down grooves, sometimes challenging, always with character.

mihai popescu kicks off a new label, steppin motion records, with two of his own brilliant tracks. the romanian artist has been a key part of the scene since 2012, releasing on labels like soulsity, rora and bass culture. he has a slick electronic sound that is here for all to here on these two new cuts.

steppin motion is a record label based in paris and managed by swoop. it aims to promote music as an art, as something beautiful that gets your body and soul in motion. this first ep is in two parts, showcasing both sides of the label: the first part is the most dance oriented, whereas the second part will be more soul / beauty oriented. the amazing artwork comes from vesod, who is an italian street-artist painter from turin.

selfsuficient is first and is ten minutes of slippery house music with lovely chords and melodies all making for a warm and infectious groove. it is colourful, loose and rhythmic stuff that oozes a futuristic sense of soul. neasteptat is deeper, with rubbery drums and woodpecker like sounds all weaving round each other to cast a spell on those who hear it.

these are two terrific tracks that connoisseurs of minimal house are going to lap up.

eduardo always delivers quality music, but this is a very special record, we can say that -this is a showcase of electronic music-.
