olmeto, a small town in corsica, is infamous as the birthplace of the family vendetta. we chose the name as it has an air of mystery but also a bit of fire. we felt that we wanted a label with us as the only artists free to do what we want, how we wantà this is release number 23. all have been ours, and range across the house spectrum, vocal, minimal, tech and deep and probably a little of each in all. the raw road and madagaskar whilst different, are made from the same mood. a strong rhythm with elements brought in and out, like a good dj, you lock the groove and then begin to play around it. although all tracks are by us, we do bring in artists we like to remix from time to time. the raw road will be remixed by mark broom and nic fanciullli and they will join artist such as loco dice, green velvet and unkle who have both remixed tracks over the course of the label.

folerio is the first signing to pb wolfs new label good time records. wolf tried to sign him to stones throw, but he declined, saying >folerio is for the people and stones throw is not for the people<. this first single shows off folerios romantic writing skills and computer drum programming with >you re so precious<, a heart wrenching spoken word epic number. it was chosen to be placed in the new bruno film, but folerio declined saying >folerio is for the people and bruno is not for the people<. rounding out the 7-inch are >a second chance< and >heartbreaker<, two retro-futuristic electric ballads where folerio straight rips off princes >do me baby< and mumbles through the lyrics in an ever so cryptic, yet powerful way. the songs were all written in 1984 and recorded by folerio recently. folerio and pb wolf are no longer on speaking terms due to a personal business matter and folerio is not available for interviews or appearances because folerio is for the people and the people are not for folerio.

this special release is dedicated to detroit dj legend ken collier. his untimely passing touched me personally as he was one of a small few who supported my music and me. because of ken collier, detroit developed a dance scene, which inspired artists & producers to make dance records, which gave birth to techno, which has provided careers for so many of you in the business today. so i dare ask all you techno producers, djs, record labels, record shops, clubs which play techno music and fans of techno to pay respect to ken collier just as you would our other fine music innovators. however, this special compilation isn t about techno, it s about h.o.u.s.e sound - broadcasting it to you from live inside the st-er-eo. this record contains no artist or track listing because i don t want this to be about who made the tracks, track titles, or even who wrote this commentary. this is my personal tribute to him, and how he has motivat ed me to make my contributions to house music. thank you ken collier, for helping me grow, not just as a dj or a record producer, but also as a person. every dj and dance artist here in detroit owes thanks to you for going out into the musical forest, chopping down trees and paving the way for us to build house.
