an excellent comilation if the fine future times label that has 4 tracks by beautiful swimmers, sensual beings, max d and protct u... as fairly unknown producers doing some shit hot disco funk and pure house tracks that would have been regulars in larry levans box, if he still would have been around. not sure where all these guys all of a sudden come from... but some seriously good music here!

trademark is the collaboration of tony reeves and tundra records labelmate loki. formed in 2000, the trademark project blends electronic studio craft with the live influence of their years playing jazz. trademarks output ranges from chillout through breakbeat to deep house and even drum and bass, but always with the fusion of deep jazzy chords, rolling beats and searing synths that define their style. this year sees the pair return to their roots with some deep, tech-house grooves for the discerning clubber.

played by karotte, giles smith (secretsundaze), laurent garnier... already up to its 17th release, yore keeps rolling on, this time with a new release by memory foundation. in 1994 robert hood found his way into a dark basement somewhere in viennas suburbia. mr. hood was impressed by what he had heard, and with him a dat-tape took a long journey back to where techno was invented once. with their first appearance on detroits m-plant label 15 years ago, the memory foundation or one of their many alter egos found its way into the hearts and the record-bags of many serious electronic music lovers. in 1997, after setting up their own record labels central and together with jeremiah grow! and other releases on m-plant, 7th city or usm followed. the memory foundation now returns with their contribution for the yore camp, with their >reptiles in exile ep< they prove that they havent lost their magic touch. the track burns with electro-funk fire, with natural kit and cymbal sounds giving the already-surging cut extra thrust and the staccato burble of metallic chords adding berlin flavour. a lithe eight-note bass motif anchors the warm techno-funk of >bass traveller< as a flaring synth motif squiggles alongside rhodes chords and a boogieing clavinet line, and its easy to become so engrossed by the tunes relaxed swing that the artistry of its arrangement can go underappreciated. textbook body music, >summer visions< is an earthier, mid-tempo funk workout thats sure to get the dance floor crowded, while the light-speed closer >reptiles< blazes a slinky house trail whose fresh swing has got yore written all over it. with any luck, we wont be waiting twelve more years for the next memory foundation release

show-b is making a triumphal procession through the heaven of arrangements and the musically modernistic housemusic. complex, but fleet footed, his rhythmic structures produce a soulful symbiosis with the music of long gone times of dance music. traditional elements, such as flutes or rhodes unite with sub basses, crisp kick drums and detriotesque bass lines, culminating in show-bs own definition of housemusic. shallowness, ordinarity and a simple sensation of contentment are not part of this definition.

man of the moment joris voorn deliver his interpretation of wigald bonings kobra dance transforming the original up tempo jazz song into an exhilarating quincy jones meets nuphonic 2.0 disco tune. sheer bliss heavenly disco-dance. ooooo aahhh aaahhh! the original is taken from wigald bonings album jet set jazz. the original and the whole album by this famous german tv entertainer was co produced by christian prommer and roberto di gioia (marsmobil). on the flip side you ll find scandinavians dream team ost & kjex abducting the kobra dance to a very nice funky noisy eerie clickety clack electronic atmosphere. last but not least a top dub version of the joris voorn interpretation should please the floors all over.

master rock is back on the track: besides touring the world and hosting nights at the infamous cocoon club frankfurt, c-rock is also one half of german deephouse-duo motorcitysoul that brought gems to you like keep on turning (feat. chez damier), mbali or aura. simple music released the highly rated technique album by motorcitysoul in 2008 incl. the ovasoul joint change you. it seems like there is not much time left for c-rock to do much more, however he found the time to produce a heavy oldschool hommage with a massive raw flavour.

this release is the first part of a remix series, which will bring the mellow atmosphere of alifs album to the club floors and lift it to another level. chloe impressively emphasizes her experimental potential by remixing alif trees reality in a quite dark, but still pushing way. different layers of vocals decorate the rather broken minimal house track and transfer it to a floor filling anthem. the renowned dutch producer-/dj-team tj kong & nuno dos santos already demonstrated their ability to create soulful but still deep and pushing house music. through their past releases on compost black label, such as the tranentrekker/dropout û maxi or the single merging which features vocals by house legend robert owens, the international demand for all kinds of collaboration with the talented tag team increased noticeably.

long awaited new material from the detroit master andres on moodymanns >other< label. in true mahogani music style they decided to release the second of his two eps before the first. there has been a new andres album rumoured for a while now so we are thinking this is the second half of it. theres eleven tracks in total, with a few skits and interludes bridging the gap between classic detroit house jams and gospel style vocal tracks that kdj himself would be proud of. this one was well worth the wait!!

the long anticipated release from mojoe & marlow on dennis ferrer s objektivity. the original, a strong driving hypnotizing groove with detroit and chicago vibes, is accompanied by a powerful drum tool reworked by ferrer.

this release is a very special one for us… indeed, roskow kretschmann has been for years one of the music makers that surprised us constantly and teased our appetite, displaying his rich musical background inside of projects like jazzanova, kosma or sygaire. the tracks selected by dairmount (after hours hanging out in roskows sound lab over the years) are genuinely outstanding in his entire discography. they sound like no others and reveal rare aspects of his >musical persona<. this is why they are representing perfectly our quest for >hybrid club music< crossing the lines of the original spirit of house & techno. the ep opens with the futuristic techno soul of the time is now. perfectly named, the tune fuses with class, dusty jazz samples, obscure soul vocals, juicy claps and overwhelming detroit techno keys. the result is a timeless club monster for the deepest moments. the second track that blasted us is mono:poly rightly shaped for audacious djs that enjoy to play >special< things. the track is supported by a solid programming as fellow beatmakers like mark pritchard, recloose or kenny dope originated in the 90s, mixed with biting analogue pressure, crazy batucada elements & a magic breakdown for all the lucky ones that will play it in the sunrise this summer. and last but not least, one of the label mavericks, marlow created a hell of a remix by delivering a 10 minutes techno epic that would make our detroit godfather c2 blush of satisfaction. thanks to all of them for the fantastic music
