vor exakt 15 jahren wurde yann tiersen für seinen soundtrack zum spielfilm die wunderbare welt der amelie gefeiert. yann tiersen machte deutlich, wie man mit reduzierten musikalischen mitteln eine maximale emotionale wirkung entfaltet. und auch wenn die letzten drei alben infinity (2014), skyline (2011) und dust lane (2010) eine erweiterte musiksprache nutzen, die eine band mit einschloss, so ist yann tiersens tiefe und sein musikalischer mut auch in diesem zusammenhang zu spüren. eusa kehrt nun zum zeitgenössischen minimalismus zurück. ursprünglich wurde eusa als notenbuch für klavier veröffentlicht. als yann tiersen die stücke auf einer tournee vorstellte, bekam er lust diese für ein album aufzunehmen. neben der klavier einspielung, die in den londoner abbey road studios entstand, unternahm tiersen auf ouessant field recordings. sie geben eindrücke von den verschiedenen plätzen auf der insel wieder, fangen das meeresrauschen, den wind, tierlaute und andere klänge ein.

cvn is the work of japanese electronic artist and core member of the now defunct synth punk duo ‘jesse ruins’ -nobuyuki sakuma. a work that is distinctly sci-fi in it’s intention, ‘exposure’ is comprised of six tracks that veer from battered & scorched weightless warfare workouts to bright & melodic mutant electro to desolate and longing fragments of cracked ambience.

jürgen karg’s career in music began in the 1960s as bass player for german jazz legend wolfgang dauner. it was not until the 1970’s that he switched his attention to electronic music, launching himself wholeheartedly into exploring the genre and building up an extensive collection of synthesizers over a five year period. his efforts culminated in “elektronische mythen”, a mighty opus of experimental music which reveals new aspects every time it is played. jürgen karg’s music is deeply serious, as vexing as a jamais vu, yet absolutely beautiful. “elektronische mythen” is an album which fits like a puzzle piece between the first and second soundtracks for a clockwork orange. it’s worth to check it out!

rain text is a new project by giovanni civitenga and giuseppe ielasi. this 4-track ep is the first in a series of records produced using each time a different and fairly limited bank of sounds. giovanni civitenga is a producer from rome, currently living and working in berlin. he has released albums under different monikers on various labels including brainfeeder and huntleys + palmers. in 2014 he started skyapnea, a label and series of broadcasts on nts radio. giuseppe ielasi grew up in the south of italy and now resides in the outskirts of milano. he mostly plays solo, but also in bellows (with nicola ratti) and in duos with enrico malatesta, kassel jaeger, andrew pekler. he has released (short) records on 12k, entr acte, senufo editions, dekorder, error broadcast and other labels and also produces music under the -inventing masks- moniker.
