Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire is Bonnie Tyler’s second studio album with Jim Steinman as the producer. Bonnie Tyler kicked off her career with the single “It’s a Heartache”, but her career found new heights in the 80s when she released Faster Than the Speed of Night.
The rich sweeping operatic production style from Jim Steinman worked perfectly with Bonnie Tyler’s powerful voice. Fans desperately wanted more and got what they wanted in the form of Secret Dreams & Forbidden Fire. The album had many hits with the album closer “Holding Out for a Hero” as the biggest hit. The song was originally used in Footloose and also was rediscovered by a new generation thanks to its inclusion in Shrek 2.
Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire is available as a 40th anniversary edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on clear/black marble vinyl, and includes an insert.[info sheet from distr.]
