October 31st marks 20 years since the release of Wolfmother, the breakout debut that brought thunderous riffs, psychedelic overdrive and a new wave of Australian rock to the world stage.

Released at a time when rock was shifting toward polished indie and electronic experimentation, Wolfmother were loud, unfiltered, and impossible to ignore. The album reached the Top 10 in Australia, was certified multi-platinum, and cracked the US Billboard 200. A rare feat for an Australian rock debut. The album helped reignite global interest in heavy, guitar-led music and earned praise from outlets like NME, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times. Its tracks became festival staples, video game anthems, and arena-rock singalongs, laying the groundwork for a career that continues to evolve two decades on.

To celebrate the anniversary, the band will release a limited edition 2LP deluxe picture disc, featuring Frank Frazetta’s iconic fantasy artwork and pressed in strictly limited quantities.

First released in 2005, Wolfmother went on to win three ARIA Awards, including Best Breakthrough Album and Best Rock Album, and earned the band a Grammy Award for “Woman”, the first Australian act to win in the hard rock category.

Two decades on, it still hits with the same force.
