Barrel Select is Bloodshot’s highest designation, the albums that bubble up and foam over the rim of the pint-glass that holds the mighty Bloodshot Records catalog of defiant roots music. But there’s no froth on this album. This is about as raw and visceral as a hunting accident set to music, with Scott H Biram letting it all hang out in ways that we're still recovering from.

This record sits right at the hinge of his career: the transition from selling tapes out the back of his van to a nearly legit record-deal. It's Biram declaring himself to the world—grimy, uncompromising, and utterly alone in his lane.

The Dirty Old One Man Band is feral and alive, the sound of a busted man hammering his way out of death’s shadow and staying on the road to outrun its reach. And that’s where he remains to this day: Likely willing his van down an interstate as you read this and still a proud son of Bloodshot Records, this is where our paths first met and why will always have a place on the top shelf behind the Bloodshot bar.
