Chicago's Tied label, spearheaded by Max Jacobson, continues its odyssey through the electronic cosmos with its 17th vinyl installment. Space Cadets EP is a meticulously curated four-track V.A. that assembles a group of young sonic explorers, each bringing a unique set of qualities and styles to this interstellar journey.


Side A initiates liftoff with Just_Me's "Laser Brane" (A1)—a track pulsing with kinetic energy and electro-tinged funk, appropriately shining with sci-fi sounds. Following suit, Lumieux's "In Your Space... It's Me In Space" (A2) offers a groovy deep dive into the vastness of space, with ethereal melodies and subtle textures crafting an immersive soundscape that echoes the infinity of the cosmos. On the flip side, Constratti's "Bind" (B1) continues the exploration with a solid groove, masterfully filling the sound spectrum with micro/macro delays of synth melodies and textures reminiscent of space travel. Closing the voyage, label boss Max Jacobson teams up with 97 Till on "Orion" (B2)—a collaboration that melds their distinct styles into a pumping, breaky, celestial house groove. Echoing warm yet distant melodies, it's a cut equally suited for peak-time revelry and sweaty after-hours sessions.
