Cher -Fans nach ihren Lieblingsalben der Ikone fragen:
die Rede würde ziemlich schnell auf " It's a Man's World
" kommen, ihr 1995 veröffentlichtes Album, das auch
von der Kritik in den höchsten Tönen gelobt wurde. Nun
kann man sich auf ein besonderes Deluxe-Vinyl-Boxset
freuen, das am 14. Juli in einer limitierten Auflage
erscheint. Es enthält neben einer remasterten Version des
ursprünglichen 14-Track-Albums auf 2 LPs eine weitere
Doppel-LP, die elf seltene Remixe versammelt, darunter
"Walking In Memphis (Shut Up and Dance Vocal Mix)"
und " One By One (JR's Pride Mix)."
Die 4 LPs in der Limited-Edition-Box sind jeweils auf
verschiedenfarbigem Vinyl gepresst (rot, blau, grün und
gelb). Ebenfalls in der Box zu finden: eine exklusive,
nummerierte Lithographie eines ikonischen Fotos von
Cher. Das Deluxe-Album wird auch digital und als
2-CD-Set erscheinen. Ein Großteil der Remixe ist
erstmals digital und auf Vinyl erhältlich .
Cher nahm "It's a Man's World? in London auf. England
sollte auch einer der erfolgreichsten Märkte für das Album
werden, das die dortigen Top 10 erreichte und
Gold-Status erlangte. Das Album brachte eine Reihe von
Singles hervor: "Walking In Memphis?, "One By One",
"Not Enough Love In the World?, "The Sun Ain't Gonna
Shine Anymore? und "Paradise Is Here". Jose Promis von
AllMusic lobte das Album in seiner Rezension als "eines
der besten Werke der Sängerin - und zugleich eines der
meistübersehenen und -unterschätzten."
It's a Man’s World achieved Top Ten and Gold status in the UK, and featured the singles “Walking in Memphis,” “One by One,” “Not Enough Love in the World,” “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” and “Paradise Is Here”. The album was supported by numerous remixes of the singles, and a selection of these remixes are included together for the first time on new physical and digital products. None of the remixes have previously been made available physically, and only one of the remixes is available digitally in the US.
The limited-edition vinyl box contains a 2-LP set of the original album – remastered from the best available sources – plus a double album of remixes, and includes two unique, numbered lithographs for worldwide retail and the artist webstore respectively. This reissue features the original 14-track UK version.
