Soto moves between storyteller drawl, delicate melody and gruff yell, dripping a tortured sincerity. The delivery reflects the band's delicate musical balance, yet the lyrics paint pictures of a loss of control. Soto uses the musical canvas to try to make sense of love, God, abandonment; events outside of his control and how they affect what he can control.
