Skyblasters, Belgiums most genuine reggae-band, released their first album in 1987: The Dirty Dozen Is Alive And Well - Syblasters Live.
A stunt at the time, since it was a live debut-album. It became the start of a successful period of recording studio-albums, touring Europe, sharing stages with Black Uhuru, The Wailers, Aswad, Yellowman, Gladiators and lots of other international reggae-legends. The album is still considered as one of Belgiums best live recordings ever, even after 30 years.

Over the last three decades, the band had to deal with ups and downs, leading to a few periods of silence. When the original drummer Patrick ‘pdw’ De Witte suddenly died in 2013, fans feared the definite end of Skyblasters. But they were wrong. After a period of mourning, six of the original founders took off in a totally different concept: acoustic reggae-power. Drums were replaced by ‘newbie' Martijn Bal on cajon, electric guitars became acoustic and classic. Reggae suddenly met a glimpse of flamenco and other exotic genres. But joined forces of singer Buadee and toaster Prince Far Out didn’t loose any power, even in this strange combination in terms of traditional reggae. Live performances turn into swinging parties at clubs and big stages.

Simon Booth (Working Week) once said about Skyblasters: “This is the best fucking live-reggae I’ve ever seen”. No wonder the band decided to celebrate the 30th birthday of the live-debut with… a new live-album: Live Acoustic Power.
