Let Go is the first single taken from the new and 3rd artist album from Yousef *In The Process of Eight*, backed up with remixes from Christian Nielsen, Demian Muller and Quell. In his 3rd artist album, Yousef elegantly marries his desire to labour dance floors with an unquenchable thirst to exhibit the range of musical influences he has developed.
Sticking with the 4/4 beat on this album project, Yousef skilfully weaves through a wide variety of sophisticated electronic music. Sultry vocals sit next to quirky Chicago house, elevating moments couple up with spine-chilling anthems, cinematic melancholic befriend thunderous techno. It's a project that could only be accomplished by someone who has dedicated their working life to the spirit of house music.
While being astutely present Let Go is Yousef's own tribute to his early years as a DJ and producer, a throw-back to his Chicago influence. As the vocal (from the Crosstown Rebels frequenter Kieran Fowkes) proceeds and controls the track, the looping bass hook and gnarly rhythm refuse to relent. The track rides on through a gentler, more musically delicate zone before the much needed crescendo demands that the listener adheres to the title.
