First on Decks.de !! Lust und Freude Musik s fifth release arrives from Tufan Demir of Istanbul, who has been making music in various genres under different monikers for some time now. This EP bears Tufan s own name and contains tracks of a more personal nature. Despite the overall after-hour feel of the Toy Harmonics, it also draws heavily from modern house music elements. Four-to-the-floor pattern of the tracks do not necessarily mean that they are pure house as they encompass an undeniable ambient vein. Most of the percussive elements featured here have been recorded by Tufan, extracting sounds diligently from a toy archive that includes pieces ranging from action figures to music boxes. The opening number Idiot Term tricks you with its mighty kicks and hypnotic percussions only to draw you into a dreamy atmosphere made up of pads and intricate structuring. Quiet Days In A Room starts off with a simple sequence and builds into a melodic orgy of bells and synth sounds. The most minimalist of all, Back To Fine offers the greatest emotional potential - despite its unmistakable dance footing, the track transcends electronic dance formulas thanks to its ingenious instrumentation.
