denmark’s rdg follows his 2014 tuba nyc ep with the 12” single “solutions”. the a-side fuses the deliberate, dramatic, and impressive lyrics from l.a. s ill chill with bone chilling sub bass modulations and huge cavernous beats.
the tone gets even darker on the b-side with reverse blank, a pulsing, stabby warehouse-shattering dropper. cold mid frequency stabs masterfully drenched in reverb ring out alongside stacked drum hits. gaze ill gets the co-production credit with cessman jumping on the buttons to finish this one off.

tuba 010 introduces the duo folding city, true bass mystics from new york and british columbia. their alchemy like collaborations span tempos but consistently exhibit creativity sincerely and uniquely. the ice riddim ep presents three tracks by this bicoastal crew, along with a remix by dr jeep, who is also making his debut on tuba.

prisms a-side begins dark and cold as ancient prison stone, motionless save an automated string sample ebbing in waves. the breakdown is characteristically spare and ethereal with a few pounding heartbeats. suddenly, in a moment of true eloquence, prism turns on both the lights and heat simultaneously, filling the sonic space with a gorgeous quasi-drop. dynamic and versatile, it plays out as a spectrum from cold and dark to warm and generative-exactly like a sunrise.
on the b-side compas remix is foreboding as a creepy stranger s warning and as dark as a spell cast by a dark, latent entity. congas add a mystical and organic element and slight drum fills float alongside slow, even pacing. the tune concludes with deeply distorted underlying strings, reminiscent of long, gunmetal-grey gutters. a shadowy track all the way through.

the second release from dubs alives sister label, tuba, features the deep and intense sound of the uks j:kenzo. his a side track, nocturnal feelings is a dark, serious work that brilliantly juxtaposes hard bass lines, frantic percussion, and atmospheric depth. the b side debuts the spit brothers on vinyl with beg to differ, a sub driven, meditative, and minimalistic affair. the record closes with djgs reformat of beg to differ. this forward thinking track showcases djgs intelligent approach to bass music. his reformat balances the deep with the dance oh-so-well.

tubas inaugural release features antiserums dark, forceful, hip hop focused banger, mofo. this a side has been supported by benga, babylon system, sukh knight, tes la rok, nicon, 12th planet, djg, excision, datsik, and 16bit, getting plays around the world. neighborhood lasersniper, on the flip, is a dubstep interpretation of a hip hop classic.
