made in taiwan and brought to vienna, austria (her parents origin) the culture clash incepted an affinity for a wide range of music. growing up listening to classical music and african jazz, billie holiday s sadness and beloved fusion jazz gave birth to her musical approach, while abstract hip hop damaged the rest. her sound varies from jazzy improvisation to nu soul, creating her own unique style through her code-lacking manners. she has spent a lot of time traveling asia, the states and southern africa. while working on her master thesis in biotechnology she met the producer mez. this project will reflect on soia s own mood swings, from melancholic soul, stream of consciousness turned song, to feel good tunes - always going beyond the surface.

rbm followers have long known spinnerty for his production work behind vocalists like joy jones, miles bonny, john robinson and replife. this time we find spinnerty collaborating with chicago-based drummer farsheed toosi to create lush jazzy instrumentals that stand alone as full compositions. they mark a giant step forward in spinnertys maturity as a producer and jazzer, letting the instrumentation do the talking.
while spinnertys original versions work well for home-listening, radio, and loungey dj sets - uptempo remixes by j boogie and lil dave provide some excellent choices for the dancefloor. as a special treat for the vinyl-faithful, we have included drumapella-versions available only on the wax itself - original drum breaks courtesy of spinnerty and toosi.

anthony valadez is a dj/artist/grass roots pundit and musician based in los angeles. having toured with former interscope recording artist res, alongside talib kweli and jean grae, valadez quickly developed an appreciation for the production side of things.
