2019 repress - the fourth release on neighbourhood is forest drive west s first straight techno release, going in with a four tracker. driving, yet stripped back tracks which keep you on a cliff hanger in their own individual way. un is a straight up groove, wait, a heavy hitter, reshape, a percussive delight, and functional, a bleepy dream.

following the first two harder edged releases on neighbourhood from randomer & cadans and kamikaze space programme, the third release is brought to you by metrist, with his brand of naked, polemic club music (as he terms it), this release is much more angular and abstract. nos ossos has a warm, trippy feel to it. eliot mi fe is brilliantly bonkers, shrieking its way into your brain, which cadans has remixed adding his signature weight to the equation.

kamikaze space programme is a sonic experimentalist, an artist led by fascination with sound as much as he is led by ‘destroying the dancefloor’ and for his first release on neighbourhood this fascination has manifested itself via eastern european cold war radio signals. side a ‘numbers stations’ finds its inspiration in encrypted shortwave radio used by spies for communication, espionage in the cold war era. side b ‘duga 3’ takes its stimulus from the duga 3 radar used between july 1976 to december 1989 by the soviet government as an early warning network for oncoming nuclear threats.
