for the belonging soundtrack >solo-swim< the notwist worked with dissected guitars and electronic, but they also let nick drake and his acoustic guitar cross the channel. because the music of klimek played an important source of inspiration for that song, the notwist asked him for a remix. martin gretschmann aka console added one unreleased song.

wiederveröffentlichung der 2003er-maxi zum film von hans-christian-schmid. zwei länder, zwei städte, ein fluss. die oder trennt nicht nur die deutsche stadt frankfurt vom polnischen slubice, sie trennt welten. hans-christian-schmid (nach fünf im urwald, 23, crazy) ist einer der aufregendsten deutsche filmregisseure, er drehte 2003 den episodenfilm >lichter<, der im deutsch-polnischen grenzgebiet spielt. die weilheimer band the notwist komponierte für diesen film die musik, basierend auf einem klavier-loop und minimaler elektronik. mit dabei waren sebastian hess am cello und saam schlamminger an der zarb-trommel. die remixe stammen von martin gretschmann aka console.

>blank air< ist ein sanfter, unaufgeregter song: reflexiv, sehns?chtig und mit einem dieser typischen notwist-hooks, den man nicht so schnell wieder aus dem kopf bekommt. der song wurde f?r einen film von j®rg adolph komponiert. die b-seite dieser limitierten vinylsingle ist eine coverversion von >by this river< von brian eno und cluster, eingespielt von console. notwists elektronik-mastermind ver®ffentlichte eine vokalversion des songs bereits auf seinem album >mono<, die vorliegende version ist jedoch noch ambientartiger. das artwork stammt von helge reumann (elvis studio).
