the patchouli brothers deliver four raw tunes, looped for optimum dancefloor ecstasy. on the a side he wonders is a squelching synthy, guitar laden gem, extended and reworked for full cosmic galacticness. a mighty joy follows up with a slice of gospel disco gold, expertly tweaked to enrich your soul with spiritual goodness. on the b side can t stop christy is laced with a good helping of slap bass and trumpet flurries alongside the elusive christy trading licks with that hazy distorted guitar. closing out the ep. take you there channels the glory days of disco into a six-and-half-minute reglammed opus.

the patchouli brothers strike back with a second edition of their edits for basic fingers. on the a-side we get a big dancefloor bullet with piano luxury, euphoric vocals and 110% party vibes. on the flip there s more of that uptempo feel-good business, just take your pick.

the patchouli brothers first began throwing parties in an albanian dive bar in torontos east end, but have gone on to grace the stage at a spectrum of the city s establishments. they hold down a residency at a rotating disco jam called beam me up which, while held monthly at the piston, has taken place in a film studio, an artist commune, above a furniture store and inside the great hall. their debut 12inch for basic fingers features two cuts. first up wicked one, a fiery slice of gospel served with a rich piano hook. on the flip we re treated to magic rhythm (of love), a masterclass in pure disco-funk insanity. looking for a peak-time workout with lots of percussion? look no further

seriously dope 4 track disco edits ep. first up is jaz. the south carolina native is at the top of the disco edits game, with records out on universal cave, rotating souls, and passport to paradise. “the end�” is a 90bpm monster. easily suited for lovers of balearic, one of those rare slow tracks that can really rock a dance floor. the patchouli brothers are up and comers from toronto, with a 12” on basic fingers, “cheat, lie, kill, die�” is a mid tempo stomper. a versatile track easily blended with disco or house, and a hook so catchy, crowds are singing along before the end of the track. will martin opens up the b-side with pure fire. “rock me again” is the transformation of a 2 minute james brown production into 7 and a half minutes of dance floor ecstasy. martin is known for lo-fi house, with releases on 2mr, dolly, argot, and supply records. studebaker hawk closes us out with the b-boy jam, “say africa”. breaks for days, and even a heavy guitar solo. this track is for lovers of deep disco, classic hip hop, and afrobeat. limited run so don t sleep on this one!
