the manchester-based label, music is love, has made some serious headway in their debut year with a flurry of impressive releases from a pool of highly talented up-and-coming artists. moving into 2014 and the mil crew continue to unearth fresh talent with the creation a new sister label, a label devised on bringing together a broad range of musical aspects and inspired by a desire to nurture a sound with more sonic craft. for their inaugural first release they welcome colman buckley for his first full ep. with 4 tracks of uniquely differing styles, the ep is branded by percussive rhythms and slick grooves, with acid-fused textures and deep house melodies piecing together a strong collection of tracks.

the colman brothers return, inspired once more by dizzy gillespie and the herbolzheimer rhythm combination & brass. >another brother< is a continuation of the >el nino< sound with the muted trumpet leading the way in amongst the big horn backing and latin rhythms. ruth hammond features here once again with her soulful rhodes playing, all backed up by some heavy beats from drummer scott hammond. the remix was inspired by the soundtrack sounds of lalo schifrin, roy budd and bill conti.
possibly their finest work since their first release, the feisty >another brother< is sure to set dance floors alight this autumn, has already received radio 1 play from gilles peterson, and heralds the brothers debut long player, arriving on wah wah 45s early 2011!
