shore is a vibraphonist and composer based in brooklyn. eamon harkin and justin carter from mister saturday night met him through nyc music institution, nublu, where he worked with the legendary jazz maestro butch morris and sex mob and tom waits drummer kenny wollesen. at the very first planetarium listening session, where eamon and justin blend records into live performances for people sprawled on the floor of a loft for six hours, one of justin s friends leaned over to him and asked, -what is this record? it s amazing.- it wasn t a record. it was shore, playing a hundred times in the corner of the room.

after zine s m--e ep started the climb to the peak of the mind everest the crew s journey continues with this versatile four track ep by fairly unknown but up-and-coming producer lowshore. his debut record provides a fine selection of superb crafted house with a not to deny touch of funk and jazz influence featuring a tooled bassline cut, a drum infected sampler session surrounded by an emotive peaktime jam and an ambient run out on the flipside. each release comes in a black screenprinted sleeve with an embossed photographic fine art print.

18 monate nach ihrem debuet-album, praesentieren teo schulte und heiko laux stolz ihr zweites offshore funk-album -crome.- ausgewaehlte tracks der 50er und 70er jahre, besonders von steely dan, horace silver, isaac hayes und - nicht zu vergessen - die klassischen sounds der labels philadelphia, motown und stax waren inspirationsquellen fuer -crome-. teo und heiko kombinierten ihr beiderseitig, langjaehriges produktions-know-how mit neuester studiotechnologie um retro durch eigene bearbeitung ihre bedeutung zu geben durch den offshore funk-sound. -crome- bietet musikalisch einen noch hoeheren anspruch als das letzte album, findet sich zwischen verschiedenen genres wieder und beinhaltet funk- und technoelemente genauso wie house- und jazzparts. in der 11-monatigen albumproduktion steckte wahrhaftig viel liebe fuers detail, wobei die hohe qualitaet in hinsicht auf komposition und sound absolut im mittelpunkt stand. angesichts dessen entstand ein eigener, unabhaengiger und doch weithin empfaenglicher sound. durch die letztendliche selektion der tracks, die nun auf -crome- ihren platz finden sollten, ergab sich ein herrlicher listening-flow der die weiterentwicklung von offshore funk seit dem debutalbum bestens reflektiert. -crome- erweckt beim hoeren so manches an stimmungen und gefuehlen: eine rundfahrt mit dem cadillac – offenes verdeck, den fuß auf dem gaspedal, den wind in den haaren, blauer himmel und eine endlose weite, alles ist moeglich! abschalten und chillen – ein kuehles bier, am strand liegen und den sonnenuntergang zelebrieren! bereit zur party – den sound aufgedreht, ab in die disco, rauf auf die tanzflaeche bis der morgen daemmert! das nun ausgereifte offshore funk-projekt holte sich fuer das neue album zwei gastmusiker mit an board. teo und heiko kreierten bei -are you...- absichtlicht ein jazzfeeling und f-j, ein angesehener jazzkomponist und pianist, verfasste ein perfektes solo fuer den track. diego war auch gleich ueberzeugt und enthusiastisch zugleich vom neuen offshore funk sound und lieferte einen beachtlichen beitrag zu -crome-. er arbeitete an drei von zehn tracks entscheidend mit und steuerte zusaetzlich noch einen remix von -le grand crome- bei.
