killawatt returns with his sophomore 47 solo ep. successive to 47010, his first solo four-tracker for the label released earlier this year, killawatt delivers 47012 allowing his percussive heavy background to influence his take on modern dance floor material with bone rattling rhythms with stirring overtones and ruptured drum patterns.

uk’s killawatt made his debut 47 appearance on the first various artist ep, 47001 in 2015 with his contribution, ‘tensile’, alongside kwartz, isolated lines and tommy four seven. following his appearance at 47’s new event numerology in berlin, killawatt steps up to deliver the label’s second solo artist ep, 47010, which combines deadly broken rhythms, futuristic soundscapes and cutting textures to create 4 solid techno stepping experiments.

conceived at a poignant intersection of killawatt’s existence, the fazed ep evokes an introverted and pedantic nature, tailored for the individual over the collective. produced during a period of self-reflection and change, the ep signifies a positive gear selection in the mind-set and approach to sound design and music as a whole. a period of sustained momentum and the challenging of previous attitudes resulted in killawatt consciously isolating himself from specific negativity in and around him, through forced positivity, elimination of destructive environments and a more embracing approach to introversion, inner thoughts and sentiments are brought to the fore and expose a rarely seen fragility unaffected by external influence. remixes provided by bristol based, peng sound boss ossia and berlin atonal favorites sergie rezza (dj deep & roman poncet).

part 2 concludes killawatts largest body of music to date, the opposing rhetoric ep, a 6 track opus of truly progressive uk underground sound that melds his influences from dubstep and techno with expansive, high-tension sound design. the eps second triplet of beats feature his most overtly techno-focussed sounds yet, expanding his horizons and dropping the pace down to 125bpm, and delivers punishing dancefloor rigidity and bass-immersed sonic force. on black air, killawatt threads tightly coiled syncopations above a grinding 4×4 structure, and delivers a near-cacophonic but ultimately heavy full-sensory overload. the flipside is divided between the churning swell of dark industrial aesthetics on art of discourse, and the moody permutations of reactive technique, where rippling melodic shimmers provide accentuation to its pounding sub-density.

the juggernaut-like production force of killawatt returns to osiris music uk this summer to release a two part ep featuring his most exploratory sonic creations yet, the opposing rhetoric ep. part 1 is awash with churning industrial basslines and grainy textures, combining imperiously bleak sound design and chugging technoid vibrations. the barren ambient menace of two curious gypsys sets a disconcerting tone before launching into the steely, kick driven propulsion of static tension, a lurching beast that builds momentum through its increasingly intense layering, psychotic fx and insistent percussion. the lean and minimalistic unit51 is swung by broken beats, as interlocking drum patterns spar with taut synth stabs, staccato kick-punches and rolling sub-bass pressure, the eps most dancefloor inclined track that exhilarates with its fluid movement and kinetic energy.

following his appearances on wheel & deal and black box, the next step in killawatts musical uprising comes courtesy of dj thinkings specialist imprint box clever. on both sides, whether solo or working with occasional collaborator ipman, killawatt has channelled the vibes of fwd>> circa 2004 - when hatcha ruled the pp soundsystem with his brand of tribal funk, or ongy-bongy as it was christened by mc crazy d.
