the next release on man power’s me me me features two emotive leftfield house cuts from dsc, the newly minted production alias of desert sound colony, aka liam wachs, the man behind the newly launched holding hands record label. wake up, is a sweetly melodic track of pulsing house, with coming round providing a pumping and muscular leftfield techno counterpoint. on remix duties man power invites north east upstart elliot adamson to remix wake up, before his full length ep coming up next on the label. hotly tipped by everyone from jackmaster to jamie jones, elliot is a superstar in the making, and relishes the opportunity to flex his more esoteric muscles with a slice of deconstructed electro that hints at the startling musical breadth, which the young producer is only beginning to reveal. coming round is remixed by none other the legendary rex the dog, who is not only an artist who man power has huge admiration for, but also someone he is pleased to call a good friend. the trust between the two artists shines through, as “rex” provides possibly one of the most unfettered dancefloor tracks of his career.

holding hands is blasting off with a bang of cosmic proportions, featuring two cuts from desert sound colony’s dance floor alter ego ‘dsc’. far reaching, as its name suggests, takes inspiration from the deep well of our musical past. drum & bass, jungle, breaks, house and hardcore are all present. that being said, this is not just a revival record. these sounds combined take your mind out of the past and place it firmly in a previously unimagined future. hard as nails to begin with, the track eventually builds to a glorious rapture. too hard is deep like the mariana trench and made for dance floor meditation. kicks rock you back and forth as a soft canvas of pads drapes itself over your mind. space is the place people, space is the place. both tracks are produced and sculpted for the club. they want big sound systems and dark rooms. close your eyes, hold hands and experience transcendental space flight…

library music is the crate digger’s manna, music that has never been commercially released, hence much harder to come across, providing obscure sample material for generations of producers. any respectable digger will recognise the boosey & hawkes recorded music library sleeves immediately. however, the cavendish music archive, of which they are part, remains one of the least chartered non-commercial music catalogues among producers.
this is no longer the case, thanks to veteran beatsmiths jonny cuba (dynamic syncopation) and ollie teeba (the herbaliser), and their army of emcees: audessey, oxygen, ugeorge, supastition, emskee & eddie meeks. we bring you my boosey weighs a tonne, an album sampled wholly from the cavendish archive. this makes a perfect follow up to 2011’s soundsational lp on ubiquity, for which soundsci gained the blessing of mike james kirkland to sample his rich back catalogue.

mindscape, is one of the major producers hailing from the thriving drum and bass scene in budapest, homeland of producers like chris.su, skc, jade & zero method. in 2003 he founded the mindscape trio, that a couple of years later became his solo project. first picked up by trace, mindscape soon became a worldwide known artist. 2007 saw his debut album called >black lotus< on citrus recordings, featuring heavyweight dancefloor smashers like the title track >black lotus< with jade, or >planet x< with chris.su featuring the legandary ryme tyme. the lp took him to the next level, his ener-gic, yet deep and minimal dj sets were causing disturbance all over europe, australia and new zealand. during his rich years in the scene he made quite an impact, he worked with, remixed, and was remixed by such illustrious artists as cause 4 concern, gridlok, break, audio, dose, noisia and list goes on. after having releases on established labels such as commercial suicide, subtitles, eatbrain, bad taste, p51 and citrus, and being featured on andy cs world famous mix cd >nightlife – volume 5< with the track called >bounce<, now he finished his 3rd, science fiction themed album called >martian chronicles< for klutes label commercial suicide.
