for lionoils 4th outing, formerly supine edinburgh top cat thinktank takes us on a dive around his subaquatic crib, drifting between its many chambers - each one stranger and more manic than the next.

stepback records launch with the first new thinktank material in many years!! danger at 300 fathoms ep combines styles from many genres, electro, house, techno, reggae, electronica all neatly produced and packaged to build an excellent first release for stepback records. its no surprise as thinktank aka colvin cruickshank has a strong background in writing and producing top quality music. his band snide rhythms has a cult following and his music with thinktank reveals the breath and diversity of colvins talents as a writer and producer. a side algae rhythms kicks off the ep. its a house focused club record with a quirkyness that defines thinktanks sound. meanwhile, w sludge on b1 packs more of a punch with its heavier kick drum, snares and a much more skanky feel. we round off with l ahrax point an uncomprimising club track. its badass electro but again with a deep twist that intrigues the listener and leaves you wanting to listen again and again.

night owl the lead track is a throwback style disco rap track that just rocks out with some serious slap bass and disco space sounds, while think tank gets all old school on the mic. the all good funk alliance provide the remix and take the track in a more breaks direction but still keep enough of that old school flavor to keep the party going. on the flip think tank drops some science over some dubby cranking synth bass on photo synth, one of the most interesting tracks that we have ever put out. and finally get up get all broken beat meets electro with think tank urging you to just get up, get up, get up...

antique fragments ep is the third release of our kommuna tapes imprint. the a side starts with a quirky fast-paced track created by a mysterious producer named schematix in 1997. thinktank, an electro/breakbeat act who signed his first and unique ep only a few years later in 2000, takes us on a punchy yet dreamy techno journey. on the flip side, after schematix undusted his hardware to extract the stems for the occasion, wizard sergio moreira mastered the challenge of creating a slower and deeper version of the track, while upcoming madrid talent javier moreno closes the release with a bouncy acid burner. track by track, we build a kommuna of artists who share our insatiable appetite for music discovery, guided by a certain vision of the dancefloor: deep stripped-down grooves, sometimes challenging, always with character.
