der londoner produzent o’flynn welcher four tet, gilles peterson & bonobo zu seinen fans zählt veröffentlicht sein ninja tune-debüt! oflynn ist ein junger produzent aus london, der von den machern des boiler room als einer der vielversprechendsten newcomer im dance bereich geadelt wurde. eines der hervorstechenden 12inch-releases des jahres 2015 war o’flynns debütveröffentlichung bei blip discs, zwei tracks voll pumpender, perkussiver und afrikanisch beeinflusster house musik. tyrion entwickelte sich zum tool für four tet, ohne das er in seinen sets nur selten auskam, während das fast schon hymnische desmonds empire von musikgourmet gilles peterson aufgegriffen wurde, der es beim auflegen während des festivalsommers mit beeindruckender wirkung zum einsatz brachte. beim nachfolger oberyn/ spyglass packte er noch eine schippe klappernder perkussion drauf, die in noch stärkerer energie resultierte und airplay bei radio 1 & rinse fm zur folge hatte. seine jüngste veröffentlichung glow worm/ aloha ice jam bekam großes lob von bonobo und wurde von phonica records als eine ihrer besten singles 2016 bezeichnet. mit remixen für faltydl und addison groove und seiner kommenden 12inch für ninja tune in der pipeline, zeigt o’flynn, dass er auch in 2017 nicht daran denkt, das tempo zu verlangsamen und arbeitet stattdessen weiter daran, einen aufregenden neuen namen in der elektronischen musikszene zu etablieren.

glow worm/aloha ice jam is the third release from oflynn, and follows two sell out releases on blip discs. described by boiler room as one of dance music s most prosperous newcomers, oflynn is quickly establishing a reputation as a bright young talent and has already had his releases supported by ben ufo, gilles peterson, bonobo, pearson sound, bradley zero, joy orbison and four tet to name but a few. a-side glow worm was premiered by james blake on his bbc radio 1 residency show and showcases a contagious synth melody that is underpinned by a percussive house groove. in a similar way to both his previous releases, the flip side takes things into a whole new territory, and in this instance the infectious disco-tinged aloha ice jam takes aim squarely at the dance floor and doesnt miss

clattering percussion, raw energy… all the things that make an o’flynn release but now with a slightly more mature palette driving this hotly tipped producer forward. the term ‘mature’ is used lightly, it’s still completely mad with a load of sub!!
