alex font welcomes through his only vinyl imprint acme to two of the most prolific and interesting producers of the minimal-house romanian scene, lizz and vincentiulian.

we are happy to welcome this talented artist from bucharest. vincentiulian is no stranger in the scene and his great releases on barac’s label and other romanian imprints has got him a pretty good recognition in our music scene. this ep is a 2 tracker and a remix from the head of the label nima gorji.

any system contained in our universe tends to reach a stable equilibrium state. in the invisible world of sounds, it’s about harmony. the 4th release on liniar is more like an electronic alchemy where wobbly baselines wearing traces of detroit dna bring order to the apparently chaotic showdown of experimental bits & pieces. leading every single sound to balance.

set apart from the underground electronic trail we are used with, atipic proposes vincentiulian for its second release.
002.1 harvests energy from the crisp and simple kick pattern to break the steady rhythm into scarce drum rolls and haunting tones. side b chooses the same phonic road. 002.2 shares vincentiulians minimalistic approach: visceral on the low frequency spectrum, a perfect foundation for the somehow familiar theme. 002.3 deconstructs even more, using as little resources as it can get: shadow like reverbs, glued together in a sketch that invites your mind in a twisted hide n seek game.

simodul ep is no less challenging to its listeners comprehension abilities than the previous moment records releases.
adventuring into the electronic mystic lands is vincentiulian, who tames the analog machines in his own twisted way into 2 carefully crafted tunes. simodul on side a exploits the whining oscillators to drive the audience into the energy of the simple yet hypnotizing kick. flipping the record we find alpha, enlighting our spirits with its wobbly bassline, entangled within radiant strobes of pensive rhythms.
simodul ep comes in line with the first moment releases, carving new paths into the darker corners of tech house.

metereze keeps a steady path of releases and this time around it is young star vincent iulian who picks up the ball and delivers four astounding tracks on his four quarters ep. also a native of bacau like dubtil and raresh among others vincent has already released on labels like naural or moment.
started is probably the grooviest of them all and for sure youve heard it before if you’ve been attending the right parties. breaking the boundries between techno and house this is a true masterpiece. on the same side he also shows a more relaxed atmosphere filled with jazzy percussions and easy synths. stors kinda makes you stop and dream for a while.
first on side b we have another dancefloor monster. no more is is driven by a hypnotic synth and infused with enough drums to keep you on the move for the whole 7 minutes. le van a cantar keeps the catchy driving mood but this time iulian explores a more broken path. bubbly voices, snares and a haunted synth emerging now and then make this corner as interesting as the rest.
four quarters is a must have for any serious collector. not to mention if you are a dj.

last few years have seen barac capturing the very soul of the romanian underground in a very productive yet very unreleased manner. few carefully selected tracks have been released while others are probably kept for the right moment. with his album on metereze running hot and a new label under his command barac is for sure the man of the hour. better yet, the man of the moment. for the first instalment of his new moment imprint he teams up with friend and fellow producer vincent iulian. these two go way back and they have a lot of history together. music wise they share the same passion for driving mysterious tech grooves and theory ep is all about that. in form is groovy and dark with a haunting synth accompanied by subtle xylophones. on the other side we take a dive in the atmospheric breaks grooves of in colour. uplifting and mysterious with the right amount of balls to keep you going.
