boogie café enlist the expertise of goshawk & erik rico to provide the goodness for the next instalment in their boogie café black series. the home e.p. houses four versions of the title track with side a serving up a piano vibe mix, alongside a dub mix for good measure. the vibe mix layers a bassy, bumping piano line & erik s rnb flavoured vocals behind a shuffling beat before a soulful flute line takes centre stage. on a slightly different tip the dub mix drops the flute in favour of echoed out stabs for a sparser and tougher aesthetic, readymade for the dancefloor. flip it over and the percussion vibe mix adds in some choice congas and bongos, combined with sustained organ-style synths and jazzy piano chords, creating a more summertime soul style to the track. the fourth and final dub mix sees goshawk use erik s vocals in short but sweet snippets, adding extra atmosphere to the track but allowing the piano and percussion to lead the way.

goshawk returns for hudd traxx 60th release with erik rico supplying the vocals. get up 2 get down is a peak time groover with plenty of funk to boot accompanied by some seriously soulful lyrics. art of tones picks up the pace on the remix with a heavy bass line added with open hats to take things up a notch. flip for the b side and find the love has gone, a brilliantly made house track made for the dancefloor. goshawk closes things out with a laid back deep house dub on b2

rhythm plate vet matt hunt is back with his goshawk alias and the snappily titled double house & triple garage ep, kicking off with the warm and steady grooving deep house of -down in brooklyn-. -both sides buttered- is a cheekier affair that flirts with splashes of sassy organ chords and finger clicks to die for, but things get serious once more with the soul-drenched -88 keys-, which features an undisclosed number of melodic piano and rhodes parts twirling in bluesy harmony. -i live for the love you give- finishes the ep off with a sharp jack in its step and a heartfelt vocal lift to drill some raw emotion into your no-nonsense heads-down house session.

rhythm plate released one of the best releases on hudd traxx in 2007, half of rp returns under the guise of goshawk for hudd 055. matt brings astral t back with him for the a1 track and my heart certainly gives inside me a run for it s money. warm chords, lush vocals and slick beats are all laid down to perfection to kick off the ep in fine style.a2 follows the deep tones set on a1 with the wonderful high in the evergreens. the b side kicks off in a more upbeat style with yes in this way which would fit nicely in a derrick carter peak time set. goshawk finishes off with a cheeky garage number that is reminiscent of grant nelson s early work on nice n ripe which can only be a good thing.

more pft hotness on 12inch for your delight and delectation. alongside stalwarts such as goshawk, rhythm plate and yse we are delighted to welcome switzerlands finest deep house producer shaka to the pft roster. his track dream thing should really be called dance thing as it s proper groovy, tracky and jazzy in equal measures. love it. i ve used up half the word count already so to sum up each artist/track in one word i would say goshawk mozambique = chunky rhythm plate string thing = stringy yse reflections = syncopated. listen to it, you might like it.

after a rare sighting on the esteemed kolour ltd with the much lauded from the woods ep, the secretive and elusive goshawk is nowtaking flight on pressed for time with the hunt ep - a four tracker of warm, garage swung grooves.

all tracks reared in captivity and released into the wild by matt rivem at a secret location in the east midlands. from the woods of the east midlands - the goshawk arises with three slices of organically crafted - deep, underground house music. it was the epitome of a perfect match for us at kolour ltd and were pleased to finally let this bird loose.

after a strong run in the early 00 s, 3am recordings came back into action in 2016 with a various artists release that featured a range of artists closely tied to the label s foundations. now label boss al bradley is stretching his wings with -night owl-, a refined production that demonstrates his experience in the field of tech house. goshawk comes on board for a remix that takes the deep sweeping original and makes it into an effervescent summer time groover, while label regular michael scott nudges -night owl- into stripped down late night territory. the third remix from fourfourfour heads into oddball territory for those who like their house music off kilter and playful.

its not often you get to work with vocalists of sarah jay s calibre (massive attack/presence) so here at pft we decided to enlist some heavyweight talent to make the most of this opportunity. kicking off the second ep we have the one and only rob mello (classic/defected/crosstown rebels) on remix duties

after a geographically imposed hiatus (the travel links between nottingham and hong kong are intermittent to say the least) pressed for time label bosses rhythm plate are back with a new project featuring massive attack/presence vocalist sarah jay.

kiko navarro has released on some pretty impressive labels. nite grooves, third ear and even king street sounds to name a few! which makes us very excited to have him as part of plastik people. kiko delivers us some straight up dance floor house killers, first track, bates dance has infectious strings combined with moody drums & rhythms that are reminiscence of early point g sounds that came out on basic recordings back in the day, kiko then follows up with a groovy hip shaking track called camon yo! which will certainly move any floor.
