following their eponymously titled 2016 arrival on midlands graded imprint, as well as a recent followup on dark entries, solitary dancer return to the label on which they made their debut. once again, this three-track 12inch blends electro, ambient, and acid to superb, undeniably modern effect. with a running time of nearly 12-minutes, the title track transmitting to heaven is an ambitiously sweeping cut that subtly moves through its various shades, from electro and acid, to strobe-lit 90s rave. the b-side kicks off with birth of saturn, built around an arpeggiating synth that shifts and morphs throughout the track as the intensity ascends. the 12inch closes off with ‘at the end of the corridor of love, a loss’, a slow burning ambient piece that is as sombre as it is cinematic.

currently causing quite a stir on the underground, the jerome hill remix of marshall jeffersons s trax classic lost in the groove is a complete re-interpretation, solid jacking (hard) house music using the original vocal that s cut loud onto the vinyl and worms inside your head and has been doing serious damage in the clubs and festivals last year. now with all licensing and red tape cleared away, it s set for release. dancer boom boom is actually a collaboration between acid legend adonis and sidney winters, with a mix down by house legend frankie knuckles. this sat on the b side of am a dog on trax records and is rare & obscure to say the least, but once the needle touches the groove you know it s a killer. massive kick drums and mysterious organ scales, this one is a mad mad tune ! produced in 1987 (and sounding like nothing else from that year) it s been given a very slight and very respectful re-arrangement by jerome hill, remastered and cut super loud. strictly limited and if the previous titles on the label are anything to go by, this one will sell out equally quick.

yet another classic master reese production from the vaults. this time from way back in 1991. -speaker punishing- was a stone cold detroit killer that crossed over here in the uk and european rave scenes due to it s break-beat laden hardcore appeal, string quartet samples and incessant bass-line while it s flip-side -feel the mood- carries that after hours detroit vibe over two different mixes (ably mixed by the legendary marty bonds) and still sounds amazingly fresh and current today some 20+ years later. both tracks are essential weapons to have in one s dj bag and display what a versatile producer kevin saunderson is with two totally different energies sharing the same slab of wax. re-mastered, re-pressed and re-released for 2015 with all original incognito label artwork with the full consent of kevin -master reese- saunderson, detroit mi. essential!

chaotic, acidic jack tracks are the order of the day here, dancer aka sidney winters, dropped this obscure bomb on trax in the peak year of 1987. both sides are mixed by the late, great frankie knuckles and have all the trademarks of his touch, tough drum machines, italo inspired melodies and thundering bass-lines. these monster tracks sound absolutely massive and will surely do damage when dropped today.

2012 sees detroit label, kms records, celebrating its 25th anniversary. founded in 1987, by kevin maurice saunderson, his first release was triangle of love produced by, kreem, (just one of his many guises), little did saunderson know, at that time, that two and a half decades later, he would still be releasing music on his kms label.
