der britische produzent mumdance startete 2013 mit releases auf rinse, tectonic oder xl und kollabos mit innovativen künstlerkollegen wie logos, spyro und novelist so richtig durch. sein fabric-mix ist eine überwältigende ansammlung an styles 2015, von gewichtslosen experimentalismen am anfang, über heavyweight-grime-vips (viele davon unveröffentlicht und exklusiv!), bis zum prägenden uk rave/hardcore seiner jugend am ende des sets.

two of the freshest, most future-facing names in grime, novelist and mumdance will release a new ep on xl recordings. the pair have already created one of the biggest grime moments with their acclaimed take time collaboration (from mumdances recent ep on rinse), and the 1 sec ep is set to build on that tracks huge success.

the *take time* ep arrives in the middle of mumdances stunning run of recent form. the title track draws upon mumdances long-standing love of grime, crafting a tightly coiled, ten-ton heavy club riddim, all frostbitten drums and shockingly stripped-back midrange, powerful enough to carve a rift deep into the mix. it features the quick-witted vocal play of rising london mc novelist, whose bars dart swift and sharp through the track’s acres of frozen space.

label boss pinch joins forces with fellow darkside-soldier mumdance to produce tectonics first outing in 2014. the result of this collaboration is two solid 128bpm sound system crushing rhythms that occupy a unique world of their own. dark, heavy, energising and totally original sounds.

mumdance & logos have put together a new mix cd for their different circles label. he mix cd tracklist also reveals the existence of a new, forthcoming imprint called devils, which dj sinclairs bells (rpg mix) and the boylan devil mix of logos glass will feature on.

perc & truss’ statement of rave intent “leather & lace” returns when you least expected it, this time in the form of three new remixes from an all-star cast of producers. leading the charge are perc trax’s breakout starts of last year ghost in the machine who build upon their trademark kick drum volley with reese basslines, swearing pads and a stretched out arrangement that showcases all that they are capable of. flip it over and tectonic main man pinch takes a different approach with his uniquely bristolian take on techno, featuring everything from primitive computer bleeps to the kind of broken rhythms he and his label are known for. closing things off is the wildcard of the set as mumdance and logos step away from their weightless sound to serve up a tough, acid driven take that nods it’s head to the classic sounds of bonzai and eye-q.

>this mix was the perfect chance to sit down with pinch & bring together a sonic which we both feel we have been working towards for a while, albeit from very different angles. in my opinion the dance music climate in the uk is enjoying a healthy & extremely interesting transitional period one which i would draw parallels to the 93/94 proto era when people were literally making up the rules as they went along. this mix is a ode to that time & our attempt at throwing some ideas out there, with the hope of sparking some imaginations & pushing things further forward< - mumdance
