we eroded pre-existent structures constructing an open heterotopic space, a horizontal and vertical thinking found its way through physical- and cyberspace, here, nothing manifested instantly - flippancy left space for any kind of interaction and appropriation. within (or well beyond) economic pressure points which diluted production, this was our opportunity to try out different potentials with no restrictions to the public, while simultaneously scrutinising the general framework of institutions and human behaviours. subversive potential always was variable, always asking, deconstructing and reconfiguring itself allowing new states of aggregation within diffuse interspaces and futures

it s a first for pinkman and lux rec. yet the two labels have so much in common that it isn t surprising they have been drawn towards each other. and the rosa luxembourg files is the result of this collaboration. rotterdam and zurich, ian martin and barbir & nicola kazimir, exploring different shades of the same black, wandering at the fringes, plunging into obscurity and machines talk. there s no rest and no comfort, but manic fixation.

this ep represents a further manifestation of sound-expression over sound-design. each track has it¡¯s own characteristics. it¡¯s a symbiotic ep which combines vintage analogue gear with live digital effects, everything is done in a moment - manipulating things that you can¡¯t calculate but feel. this live combination is really important that the listener will subconsciously get a psychedelic and emotional bound to electronic music - resembling genres like krautrock. do what you want, it¡¯s the only law - it¡¯s a sentence very dear to the whole les points collective and with this boundery it¡¯s no surprise that audino & barbir have collaboration featured. dilettantes on the rise!

a quest for form which is never static and accompanied by two constants - repetition and reduction. reduction requires repetition in order to make the intangible tangible for man. this repetition also stimulates our perception and helps us find an inner self while illuminating towards the primal thought. another synonym for *intangible* is *not human* - for the most reductive of primal thoughts, sprung from fractal chance, does not deal with human beings but with a formal language that is universal, drawing from the innermost, and only becomes tangible in accidental, fortuitous moments.

phaenomena ep is the second release of our kommuna tapes imprint. the first side starts with a track produced by tom ellis over a decade ago that has been one of our secret weapons for many years. barbir and nicola kazimir from les points take us on a faster paced, electroish trip. on the flip side, we are introducing an upcoming zürich talent – adva – with two cuts between ambient, dub and minimal. track by track, we build a kommuna of artists who share our insatiable appetite for music discovery, guided by a certain vision of the dancefloor: deep stripped-down grooves, sometimes challenging, always with character.

four multi-purpose, innovative tracks from the assemble music family. mike shannon takes the pace right down on pimp limp to stunning effect, weaving together tweaked pads and a deep, tripping bass with the tightest of drum sounds, developing an irresistible, effortless groove. aloe varu (aka dan andrei) takes the shuffle up a notch on shifty, evoking classic herbert with cut-up jazz samples and bumping, stop-start percussion. nicola kazimir nods to another master, jan jelinek aka farben, on reductive ford, channeling the latters contemplative, intricate and emotive programming. finally voigtmanns muff shuffler does, well, exactly that, shuffling along with a minimal vibe enhanced with fine atmospherics.
