for the next installation of the wolfskuil records series, the dutch producer cadans aka jeroen snik returns to darko essers imprint and presents three dancefloor monsters.for the next installation of the wolfskuil records series, the dutch producer cadans aka jeroen snik returns to darko essers imprint and presents three dancefloor monsters. the ep opens with slit, kicking off with shaky rhythms and pounding drum patterns while entrancing vocals play in the background. on the flip side, dof serves up big room techno with a perfect tunneling frenetic groove and the eps final track plinky is yet again a heavyweight tool, with clever percussion, deep vocals and funky hi-hats.

the latest compilation from dutch imprint wolfskuil records offers up three more secret weapons continuing the series with four artists already well at home on the label.as the title suggests, each track is a heavy-hitter, but as a whole this release acts as a showcase exposing three very different approaches to peak-time techno.

cadans is not a stranger to darko essers labels as hes seen a solo release on balans in 2013 and most recently put out a collaborative ep with the label boss himself on the tripeo imprint. throughout all four productions cadans deep, bass-heavy background is able to shine through with his extensive use of clever percussions.

it grabs you and turns you round. resistance is futile. fall into it gleefully because the darkness has been lit, there is a chill in the air and you feel as taut as a bow. laurent pastor and marc lapeyre (fkclub) are responsible for decadanse where ice doesnt hurt anymore according to the whisper in the title track. the label head was convinced by his partner to start production in a basement studio to create a sound using guitars and synthesisers. the coming together of these 2 strong (id)entities has culminated in an ep which is cinematic (train in vein, easy drive), distinguished post-punk (plan b) and electronic (decadanse). and when susuma makai ventures into the meandering ruin, he delivers a mind-blowing version.

fix, samsa and millian are peaktime, stripped down industrial machine funk monsters. a trio of bassheavy battle weapons wich will leave any dancefloor in shatters.

this newest installment of the ongoin series presents four very different hardspace mixes, each one of which allowing a different shade of len fakis musical guise to shine through. on guidance a quick-paced bounce grooves on top of a three-note bassline, suspenseful strings and sensous vox giving the track an unsuspectedly burning itch. equally smacking, yet both tribal and technoid is his rework of f.e.x‘s never give up, which keeps breaking down in order for the slicing hats to come back in and do their magic. tackling a current uk-techno-favorite on the flip, randomer & cadans‘ anchor has got a grimey grind to it, which here gets churned into an even more wicked version of a twisted trip down the rabbit hole. closing the ep out on a bleeping note, ribé‘s outlines is a deep-spacious, echo-laden affair, oscillating in tune and zoning alongside skitting percussives. as with all releases of lf rmx, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded to the berlin organization straßenkinder e.v. to be used in actions against child poverty.
