this is a tape! all good stories need a context. named after the multitalented artist who used to operate at the bauhaus in dessau, »marianne brandt« is the omnidirectional long length debut of alex ketzer, the respected designer behind noorden’s artworks as well as a talented musician on the rise. ketzer recorded in a room at the dessau structure for a few days, meticulously crafting a piece that sounds like a conversation between history and future, audio and visual, bridging the gap over a century of creation in one of the epicentres of the highest form of artistic production in europe. and now inviting electronic music to its table.

beyond plastic is a mixtape in book format about artists and vinyl labels that press music on »black gold«. it does not only trace the various processes entailed in the making of a record – from sound-production to the pressing plant and beyond – but also seeks to depict the blood, sweat and tears that goes into it.

he might have lived a century and a half ago, but antonín leopold dvo&#345,,,ák resonates on. in 2014, the deutsche symphonie- orchester recorded parts of his ninth symphony and released them into the wild for the masses to cut up, stretch out, and have their way with. this is the result of one such experiment. ludwig zibell and martin schmitz translate dvo&#345,,,ák’s operatic dramatism into a techno moodiness that sees the coming together of two unlikely worlds. alex ketzer’s 5 am reduction is a dubbed-out remix of the remix that plays out and dwells upon some of the moments you might miss listening to it in the orchestra. finally these strange, otherworldly meditations upon music from another time see a vinyl release.

a selection of four clubby reinterpretations of red on‘s ambient hardware jam „ghana“. by marrying the eerie soundscapes and delicate melodies of the original recording with their particular style of drum work, a. elm, alex ketzer, the marx trukker and philipp roth push the original tracks into krauty techno and rough, dancefloor focused house music.
