van bonn returns to his label van bonn records after releases on labels like traum, trapez and telrae. van bonn s travel to the magic rain forests and lonely beaches of the island borneo inspired him to compose music that takes you by the hand and leads you into the inner beauty of borneo. his new ep delivers two epic tunes with a total playtime of 24 minutes. the original mix is dominated by massive grooves, carefully layered sounds & field recordings from borneo. van bonn takes his time to let the tension rise slowly to finally erupt in a momentum that may remind the listener of krautrock and post-rock. the borneo dub adds a whole new level of deepness to the original track and formulates an atmosphere that can simply be described as fernweh. wether you listen to borneo in a club, on your stereo or with headphones it is always pure and true techno music for your heart, body and soul.

this 10 inch contains 2 unreleased vinyl versions in extended mixes that can make your day. the merits of van bonns releases on telrae, trapez and on van bonn records you can find in his new release -unbound-. the attractiveness of repetition has made its way into this ep... and it was a good choice. we kick off with -king-, a track which is a cross breed of a stubborn beat and a dub techno feeling showcasing a melodic intermezzi that flies in and out with a mind of its own. more minimalistic than most of the tracks you know from him, it includes unexpected half baked sounds you would not expect from van bonn. on the other hand the epic 10 minute monster -distinct- is a real dub techno giant and a soundtrack at the same time... with beats that take you by the hand.

telrae tracks is a sub label of telrae. the first record comes by van bonn who has recorded two tracks.
the a-side *on land* has the continuous mode character of early monolake music and conveys a powerful and intense feeling coming in waves.
*wave* on the flip side is a ghost track without any redundant sounds. no stunts just sounds that unite at certain outskirts to create a slight psychedelic experience. when the track stops you fall deep, because it is also a soundtrack.

the >baumgartner< release marks the third solo ep by van bonn after his >maserung/schwerpunkt< and >onwards< on telrae in 2012. so it was high time for another solo release with him. his new track is again a timeless classic, gracefully flowing without much of an interruption, it is his most melodic release up until now. the track is nevertheless very much detached in style from what van bonn has released solo and together with stefan gubatz on telrae. the track is at ease and at the same time connects to a feeling of melancholy. marko fürstenberg wrote the remix on the flip side transforming the original into a tight and bass heavy dub track. marko breaks with the flow of the original and creates a much more rigorous dance flloor rocker that introduces one element after the other. this is not for the weak and for bass lovers only!

first pressing in dark red vinyl! in remarkably short time, van bonn has developed a well-deserved reputation as a forward-thinking dub music producer. he is tying up electronic listening music with dance music structures for the german label telrae and trapez since 2011, but his newest invention van bonn01 is another step forward. van bonn records now for the first time provides him with a platform, that is his own. it is a sound laboratory pushing his ideas as well as giving him the possibility to feature like minded people. the first edition on vinyl, comes in dark red with a nice artwork. gradient (cph dub) shows a new side with van bonn, expressing a certain form of industrial & romantic privacy in a very radical way. his epic 12 minute track explores the time and space continuum in ways of symmetry. this is a perfect extension of what we know from various dub techno productions of the past. rich filtered delays balanced with a monotony of a mighty & distant beat, makes it an hypnotic piece of music. gradient in its original version is the more hardish and forceful..companion of the a-side, being more raw an direct. van bonn uses here a lot of fx sounds to build a bubble which perfectly embeds the stomping machine liked beat. the >do not resist the beat< owner milton bradley and artist on prologue (and more) has delivered a remix of >gradient< in his genuine style avoiding commercialism and creating his own atmospheric, claustrophobic, cinematic style of techno. listen here to his remix for van bonn.

for telrae 010 stefan gubatz teamed up with van bonn. the a side track marathon reflects on the more up-tempo beat tracks on telrae. it starts where stefans transistor ended, keeps a tight beat but its crunchy chords erupt like lava in a bowl of milk. the flipside track burnout works with a heavy pounding bassline but is defined by a rather airy, ambient like soundscape with many modulations and a broken tricky beat..

van bonn returns after his release maserung on telrae in april 2011. van bonn has been in the studio a lot since then and has worked on a number of tracks that are highlighted here. onwards i is an excursion into sound. it starts with sounds that interact in a subtle way but then as if by magic, suddenly it rises to a much higher energy level, almost pulling you by the hair. chords now kick in with the full force of brutality, like the strikes of london’s big ben and then you’d think the track will just burst. van bonn makes another turn before he lets the drums break loose. it seems as if van bonn is taming the brutality and direction of his electronic machines. abstract now meets the concrete and whoever wins the fight is up to the listener to decide. the first remix comes by raffaele attanasio who has had considerable success with der pianist and i m a jazzman and has collaborated with trapez ltd artist mihalis safras, a. trebor (trapez), as well as claude young, nic fanciulli and has shown his versatility throughout the last 3 years. juan atkins recently featured raffaele attanasio remix of no mans land by a. trebor in his charts.his remix for van bonn keeps up a strong beat programming right from the beginning. a beat monster so to speak is alive from the beginning and kicking. the track is written in a style that shows expansion and contraction and through that shows an organic breathing quality.
