hilltown disco are back with another attention-grabbing release. the a-side sees the return of the duo who can do-no-wrong, crossmods with an electro-masterclass that takes you on an out-of-this-world journey, followed by a clean-cut, snappy remix of the crossmods track by the belgium act, datawave. flip-over the record and we have acid-genius chris moss acid contributing a re-mastered version of his beautifully-chaotic acidic-banger, the mossquito. continuing the acid theme, dundee producer ansata gives us a real 303 work-out that is guaranteed to fill any dance floor. last but not least, crossover network join the hilltown disco family with a high energy, banger with an iconic old-school electro vocal though out to complete the release.

chris moss acid returns to don t for a follow up to last year s the acid that ate bournemouth with 4 tracks of blistering proportions. the joker is a twisted and squelchy hard nosed house/techno hybrid that punches through a sound system, while pumped up mf nestles coyly between ghetto/booty and acid with a suggestive bassline ripping things apart. on the flip, more mayhem with dp acid which is as derranged as they come before the ep closes in magnificent style with elektra , electro s answer to bohemian rhapsody.

following releases on mathematics, boxfade and vuzkid, chris moss acid returns with an extraterrestrial four tracker on holland’s 030303. the a-side features bay of cadiz, an eleven minute cut built around an hypnotic bass line and a simple hitchcockian synth that would do well in a horror movie featuring zombies with smiley faces. on the flip, lynchette matravers is an energetic, crystal clear banger reminding of early 808 state. the big freeze sounds a lot warmer than the title suggests and should please anyone into afx’s later output. the rhythm, the fourth and last track on the ep, continues on that vibe with beautiful synth work. chris moss may look like a nutter, this sure is serious sonic pleasure

everything’s possible, nothing has to be, probably best describes the current selection. while artik brutally transforms the industrial into the techno format, chris moss acid and spaceinvasion ride the 303. the former combines analog-synths with repetitive peaktime-techno, while spaceinvasion interprets this through a sluggish, yet no less brutal, flow. lastly, lucindo scatters nuances of trance. rave!
