music from memory return with their penultimate ep of 2017, this time with four tracks drawn from virgil vincent work jnrs little-known cassette only debut from 1987, fast forward. following on from a previous compilation of works taken from one of virgils collaborative projects as the duo workdub, this album under simply vincent, reflects a more stripped back and raw musical approach from the st. louis musician.

czechoslovakian band máma bubo was founded by karel babuljak in 1982, he put together five friends that he trusted. having been more or less groping in the dark of music until then, babuljak suddenly expressed a clear musical and human opinion to which the other members of máma bubo added theirs. a new band was born and although it had a clear face, it did not fit in anywhere, was hard to be connected with anything, and was isolated despite its openness. máma bubo always guaranteed an extraordinary and shocking experience which surpassed the level of entertainment. 1985: babuljak s disenchantment with the social situation as well as with artistic futility compelled him to a more profound attitude which resulted in a totally different concept, planeta haj, for máma bubo, yet, the concept was short-lived as if having been born in a place it did not fit in. in 2017, 2 lp of planeta haj, a record from 1985, was released on vinyl for the first time.

solkyss are back with a four track blender. on the a side are two thumping tracks from the stockholm based duo subdued camel - one rolling deep and one soaring airily. on the b-side we find solkyss regulars with two tracks that differ in character. lonely shark is an afterglow tune with a driving beat set under an experimental soundscape. from ensam comes another sun struck, funky piece with that signature cinematic dreaminess he showcased on his debut ep eee.

soooo here we are with the tenth and final release, thought it would be nice to finish on a nice zen like number, so this is a extra special release kind of a mini lp almost -opened up by fx mchn flush the trush is an intro to the comp and a reverse funk skittish affair next up is new man on the block for us here we been sitting on a collection of his tracks but felt this one complemented this ep the most, ecco foul, gloss is a sleazy machine groove that does t do much but thats just the way we like it .then comes mr facade with his jerky funk sweet surprises and warm melodies. the b side is opened by another newcomer from running back record hugh mane new age dawns whose track come s deep and wide open has to be heard on the headphones as well as the club jamie blanco s chord arrangments get opened up and spaced out by lht office boy toby tobias in a detroitesque ditty thats been used to open a few sets in 2015 already and finally alphonse delivers an out and out machine jam with the usual dub influence brought in vocal fashion.

elbee bad is another great underground house pioneer from the formative days of nyc house in the late eighties. the true story of house music finally gets told... tip! like the burrell brothers, elbee bad aka lamont booker, is an early house producer from new york city. and the comparison doesnt stop there. elbee bad has also recorded under different aliases and has also remained largely unknown to a wider audience. he has also recorded for nu groove records, for which he has recorded his most famous material, but like the burrells he wasnt a nu groove fixture. bad recorded for a slew of other independent new york house labels like bassment, city limits, easy street, red heat, united states of america and then there was his own larhon records

almost 25 years have past since his first release, yet >the true story of house music< is the first time elbee bads catalog gets compiled for re-release. although the best and most prolific part of his catalog is his late 80s and early 90s output, booker never stopped producing (and djing). he is currently residing in berlin, from which he still manages his studio and travels throughout europe to dj.
prior to the compilation we release a vinyl only sampler which features two exclusive and previously unreleased mixes of two tracks which are to be found on his only solo nu groove ep, from which we took the title of this compilation.
this is another winner from the true history of house music.
