the moroccan casa voyager crew conducts the a-side in style, kosh carefully manufacturing an expanding, fat and spacey electro drive while ocb laces old school electro flavours with breaks, acid and devastating groove.
on the flip, harder and darker electro sounds evolve as decade-long french electro producer jauzas the shining drops a potent electro/acid track in “machine”, followed by the relentless energy of “stella” - a murky, ever-intensifying journey through electro, breaks and industrial soundscapes by french producer ersatz olfolks.

a complex web – the story of dive position and the shining path ... began in 1982 when peter miller (aka dr. william s ray – vocals, tapes, guitar) met andrew millar (aka maurice spectograph the nose-y pieman – program execution) in gold coast, australia. while sharing a similar taste in music, they decided to form a band, so dive position was born. equipped with a korg synthesiser and tascam 4-track recorder, they -wanted to have the sound of kraftwerk, the groove of can, and the menace of throbbing gristle-, ending up with -a cross of suicide and the residents-, as peter recalls. in a local record shop they met stig andre leonardson (aka vincent blackshadow), who joined the duo on percussion and drum machine programming. their motto was -now is then-. dive position then became the fatal charm around 1984, and the fatal charm became the shining path who eventually released their only album -basic training manual- in an edition of only 250 copies, most probably in 1986. the band then started to drift apart, and shortly after andrew sadly passed away – this compilation -now is then- comprised of previously unreleased dive position and the shining path material is dedicated to his memory.

six tracks make up jauzas the shining s latest vinyl offering. brutal basslines stand, arms folded, in front of snapping snares, distorted notes bucking under immense mechanic pulses. to help drop the temperatures, to push the punishment, dynarec and raw jay have been drafted in to add their own eclipsed emotions to the mix. dark skies, brimming with rain and heavy metals hover across this record, pin pricks of light piercing the charcoal heaven before diving back into the ink-stained sonic psyche of jauzas.

collaboration project between jauzas the shining & victoria lukas featuring ekman and orgue electronique. lukas, drawing upon personal sensations, melds diary-like lyrics into dreamlike ambiance and textures, beautifully fusing with the infectious electro-pop grooves of jauzas the shining. songs encapsulating lost love and longings for sensation, emotional stimulation and experiencing feelings through those of another are conveyed via vocal pieces, cold sweat and coral eyes. ekman contributes a driving, acidic groove version of cold sweat more apt for the dancefloor, while orgue electronique pushes the electronic pop vibes into house territory. shadows written, recorded and produced by jauzas the shining & victoria lukas for last known trajectory 2014

hectic dystopian stuff abound as last known trajectory proudly presents the very exciting >nuclear invasion< ep from jauzas the shining. featuring once again the seductive vocals of victoria lukas alongside the remix talent of none other than heinrich mueller. from the bustling drama of the title track, to the highly hypnotic >crockett<, impending doom of >reality< and stark, edgy shenanigans of >bohrium<, this ep has it all!

shining are morgan zarate and acyde, a production/dj duo who decided to put the sum of their musicianship and influences together.

mighty robot kicks off 2009 with the first vinyl release from french electro artists katelectro and jauzas the shining. the original version of >plug< is music custom-made for a dark room and a strobe, the spoken vocal adding to the sense of vague unease. newcomer ottomatique takes his >plug< rework in a different direction, retaining the vocal, adding some eighties synths and underpinning it all with a throbbing industrial meets disco bassline. the legendary ultradyne push the discomfort and discord up a notch in their remix, staying fairly true to the original, but drenching it with their unique sinister atmospherics. things take a reflective turn for closing track >art of noise< as ghosts crackle in the circuits and bring the collection to a close.

7 inch! detroit mc/producer, magnif brings out not one, but two exclusive and unheard j.dilla beats for his first official solo release. mag first worked with dilla back in 2003, while still part of lawless element. both songs are recorded and mixed by young rj rice (slum village). the shining pt.2 features cuts from dj tj the king (jay electronica, royce da 5 9, more) the last eatures live keys from vernon da german (j.dilla, dwele, ess band, more) the original cover images for each song were done by detroit artist michelle tanguay.

launched in 2010 by infamous electro artist umwelt and graphic partner chris nexus 6, new flesh records definitively focuses on underground and futuristic music. productions are characterized by the use of analogue synthetic ma-chines: therefore, the music oscillates between electro and techno styles.

alek stark teams up with some of electros freshest talent for this potential electro hit. the original version here is a full-on workout to get down to, with agitated vocal and hard beats, while next in line is the totally sublime >i can see the lights< featuring victoria lukas of zerkalo (heinrich mueller & victoria lukas). not to be over-shadowed however are two stealthily executed reworks from proto 70 and jauzas the shining - most definitely forward thinking electro for the body and mind. this is one ep not to be missed!
