visionist kehrt zurück mit seinem zweiten album „value“, einem präzisen oeuvre, das seinen konzeptuellen und thematischen prozess, geltendmachung in den werten von selbstdisziplin und selbstbildung zu finden, durch akribische kompositionskunst über zehn tracks aufbaut.
der fokus auf seinen qualitativen prozess erlaubt es ihm, sich diesem immer mehr fordernden klima zu entziehen und durch den trost, den er in der routine und dem ethos seiner eigenen arbeit findet, seine beständigkeit aufrechtzuerhalten. durch das erstmalige verwenden seiner eigenen stimme, fährt visionist weiter fort mit der entdeckung einer humanistischen und intimen kreation.
am projekt beteiligt ist die kollaborative arbeit des einflussreichen künstlers peter de potter, bei dem obendrein daniel sannwald die künstlerportraits beigesteuert hat und frederik heyman und teri varhol die visuals produzierten.

on safe, visionist makes his most personal statement yet. distilling his influences down to a sparse palette of manipulated folk, pop and r&b acapellas, icy synths, and metallic drum samples, he plays off ever-present anxiety and his own battle not to let it overwhelm him. comfort, protection, salvation-this is what we search for, he says. we are taught that a life of no worries is better for us, and therefore we try to create one that is safe.

for signal life #03, we teamed up two young vigorous south londoners: mr. louis carnell, known by his moniker visionist, and mr. marco giuliani, who works under the alias last japan. >control this< by visionist combines his background in south london grime with his signature drum machine template and lo-fi vocal excerpts into a coherent mesh. our favourite visionist track to date! when we first heard >storm trooper< by last japan, it was the tension we got caught up in. the song is focused with a clear direction, uncommon in most young talent, armed with a driving snare-fill rhythm reminiscent of south rap and all that exiting stuff in the 160 bpm. i believe murky is the correct term. we predict interesting things for mr. giuliani.
