milan based heels of love is made up of luca saponaro (from krautrock-disco hybrids the love supreme) and michele tessadri (aka fratelli riviera). the pair create incredible 80s tinged, earthy, synthesized music with healthy dose of real instrumentation. after the much praised single -chain gang on nang last year, and some key releases on mad on the moon and under the shade labels, we are pleased to welcome the heels of love back for their first album and second release on nang this july. after the syncopated clap rhythms and dubbed out keyboards of album opener -cosmos, the album takes you on a ride through classic grooves reinvigorated with the heels trademark sound, spaced out synths riffs, and the occasional downright-dirty bass line. leading through the up-tempo vocal of max essa on -chain gang, you reach the woozy halftime jams in -blue gitanes, onto the stark funk of dark esquires vocal featuring on -the beat, finishing up on the classy synth joint -flight 707.

the track features the dulcet (and ever growing in confidence) vocals of tokyo based max essa. the original is a pacey combination of maxs devoesque song, driving drums and the wide-as analog bass synth from the italian duo. are we men? we certainly are.

the heels of love, the new milan based duo born from the joint between michele tessadri (fratelli riviera, bearfunk) and sapo (member of the love supremeproject on tirk) >two disco reprimands with an unhealthy penchant for slap bass, synths and vintage drum machines< has made a lot of noise lately with just a couple of works. after debuting here on mom with a huge remix that made its way up to beats in space and tsugis 2009 best of compilation they have had the first official release on david griffiths (the man behind jisco music) new label, under the shade. this one has sent them right into the chart of almost every known dj of the scene. >quiet please< is a slow, 110 bpm groovy piece of psychedelic disco that has its force in the balanced mix of the wobbling analog bassline, the p-funk guitars and the old flavouredsynth riffs reminescent of 1992 chicago house.

introducing the hells of love! two disco reprimands with an unhealthy penchant for slap bass, synths and drum machines. having both released singles under various guises, michele tessadri (fratelli riviera, bearfunk) and luca sapo saponaro (member of the love supreme project on tirk) decided two disco heads were better than one and headed to the studio to battle it out. the resulting cacophony of squelches and bleeps resulted in the third release on new fledgling jisco affiliated label under the shade.

next up on nang we-re honoured to introduce -2am- the new ep by sheffield scenester producers hiem along with another of the cities finest fellows- phil oakey of the human league. the original track is a synth pop powerhouse about those twilight club nights that you never wanted to end- complete with a epic guitar solo- computer blips and glistening synth rushes. oakey is as accomplished as ever- bringing his signature tones to full effect and it-s nothing short of sensational. to accompany- we-ve enlisted the skills of four producers to give us some cracking remixes. fernando and toomy disco are first up- and they ramp up the tempo and vibe for a loose -n- live rework that-s perfect for the dance floor. hiem themselves give it a go with his -1984 rework- bringing 80-s power drums- van halen solos and some atmospheric subtleties to the table. nang-s italian uber-cool-cat brioski steps up next giving us the italian angle with a brilliant walking bassline and luscious wide mix. the heels of love bring us frivolous percussion and stomping disco beats layered between emosh pads and slick keys. ace. to finish- our good friends free school take things down a notch for a beautiful leftfield excursion that only they could pull off.

release number four from our latin lair, and this time we are very excited to introduce a mystery project - alien alien with two tracks, black guru and sambaca. alien alien is the shadowy side project of hugo sanchez and rodion who have distilled for us two stone cold cuts of percussive, rolling disco for the dance-floor, backed up with remixes from horse meat discos severino and the heels of love.

as nang completes its first two years on the planet things are going pretty well. we are certainly not getting rich in financial terms but the love of the music and plaudits are warming our souls to the core. along the way we have also managed to work with some amazing artists and introduce some mighty-fine new ones to the world so it is with great pleasure that we bring you the 2nd installment of our array series. it is a stock-take of the best nang tunes from the past year, some previews on future hits and some tracks we just had to release.
