dance fiction is a little bit more than just a various artists ep. anaxander, quell, kresy and klaaar team up for a truly house music records. this house music record, made for the floor, is the result of the friendship between the art feast crüe and artists that have played at our endless parties in our beloved city of lyon. long nights, eating some of the finest local food, dancing, drinking, and having a good time together. this is what we call dance fiction, a simple story of friendship and love of dance music

after releases on saints & sonnets and stay underground, it pays, berlin artist quell aligns with the mil label for the four track tomahawk which further cements his reputation for no-nonsense, stripped back house and techno music. size 7 sets the tone, a dark, underground roller with a trilling bassline and acidy bleeps that sits nicely alongside the shimmering chords and deep dubby vibes of monolame. on the b-side, harhead leads with fluid percussive rhythms and sequential kick drums to give an immediate grooveintrinsic melody. the energetic, grooveled tone continues into the last track, where are they now, a dark, technofused stripped back rhythm track with an acid tinged-feel.

saints & sonnets drop its fifteenth release, the perth & kinross ep coming courtesy of quell. nikolas raptis aka quell is a greek producer currently residing in berlin, germany and since dropping his debut material back in 2007 has gone on to deliver output for labels such as ibadan, kolour, 2020vision and tsuba. here we see raptis join the saints & sonnets roster, following recent releases from artifact, jabru and three bar.

quell has had an impressive run these past 6 years, having presented an impressive array of releases on premium labels like ibadan records, tsuba, cadenza, these days and 8bit. 2013 was about to be heavily marked by his debut lp on ibadan and few 12 inches on 2020vision recordings. now, in this early 2014 we are proud to welcome on board this great artist who provided us 3 monster tracks of pure rough house full of dubby elements, extreme grooves and vinyl sampled screams, be ready to smash the dancefloor!

third single of the upcoming debut mixed cd compilation gummihz presents alles claap vol.1. this time with jerome sydenham and manoo on remix duties. first up, secret voyage (claap004) by gummihz, is tranformed to an afro house groove raised to spiritual heights by one of frances most prominent house producers. based in lyon manoo is a name associated with quality productions and we are glad to have a remix of his on one of our most popular releases.

it is not about knowledge only, academic or otherwise, it is and has always been more about understanding each thing for what it is, what it stands for and its origins. this is definitely the case with quell, who has been a friend of the these days records since the very beginning. after the artists collaboration with argy under the these days in-house project moniker >club lonely<, this is his first personal ep for the label. drawing influences from a few distant chronologically, yet classic styles of dance music, starting from disco-flavored house all the way to friendly nods at kerri chandler, ron trent, chez damier and the earlier period of new york citys ibadan records, >perception ep< blends all of them together in a most elegant and mature way. amidst the plethora of the house music sound recent revival, quell presents a very complete and solid proposal, which shows that he adores as much as he comprehends the connections between the past, present and future of this music
