following on from the success of the way of the samurai 2 >code of honour< compilation, we have been persuaded by popular demand to release one more of the tracks from the compilation on vinyl. tokyo prose >raised by wolves< has proved to be the most popular selling digital track from the entire compilation so it is only fitting it gets immortalised to vinyl. >status anxiety< is a brand new track from tokyo prose that has been getting dj support across the full spectrum of dnb djs. once again proving his versatility, this release leaves the world waiting patiently for the debut tokyo prose lp in 2013. released on limited, hand stamped, multi coloured vinyl (transparent, red & black smokey marbled) in an edition of 250 only.

honour is represented by marcus intalex & tokyo prose. we have been hunting a release from marcus intalex since the beginning of samurai music & red seal and so it finally comes to pass with >redan< for code of honour. one of the best djs on the planet in our opinion, and consistently redefining himself and drum and bass itself with his productions, the history of marcus intalex stands as one of the most impressive in the whole genre. we are beyond honoured to add this icon to the list of artists on samurai. >redan< possesses everything that is great about marcus intalex. his ability to combine emotive depth with strong dancefloor elements and make a tune that makes people actually listen and feel on a dancefloor. >redan< is most definitely one of these tunes. tokyo prose breaks a drought of solo tunes with >reach<, a favourite of names like dj marky, this again typifies what has become tokyo prose signature sound and brings in a new level of production for him. euphoric, uplifting without dipping into fromage territory, it is a sound that makes you realise why you love drum and bass music. meiyo is to enjoy a good reputation, honor. these 2 artists have both earned our respect and honour with their achievements.

limited edition hand stamped solid white vinyl. the first single from the way of the samurai 2 >code of honour< compilation comes from two artists that represent the cross section of the samurai music sound perfectly. long time samurai family member klute adds his deft, distinctive touch on a remix of tokyo prose & phil tangents >parity<. a firm favourite for every dj lucky to get their hands on it, and one that draws the attention of every lady in the nearby vicinity. a future klute classic! clarity represents the new breed of producer and dynamic, and is someone samurai music will be working closely with in the future. >cold blank< is a surefire dance-floor weapon which has been used constantly by the likes of doc scott, dbridge, loxy and many more, but those 3 names are enough to signify the potency of this bullet. >code of honour< is released on 15.10.2012. 5 carefully selected 12 inch samplers from the album will also be released in the month of october.

purple coloured vinyl 12 inch. the >introducing tokyo prose< project of 2011 was more successful than we had hoped, with the sampler 12 inches taking the #1 and #2 spots in chemical records top vinyl sellers for 2011. a remix package was inevitable, and we took a different direction than some would have expected. the first remix of >echoes< come from manchesters synkro who has provided one of the most beautiful tunes we have heard in the last year. the clip of this tune has already had staggering success on soundcloud and rave reviews from the likes of london elektricity who gave it 5/5. exit recordings artist consequence takes on >lpk sound< and renders the tune into a slow motion bliss out showered in an altogether unique vibe, nailed to a solid stepping kick. two perfect examples of how a remix should be done, combined to make this one of our best releases ever.

!k7 are pleased to announce forest swords as the next curator of the ever essential dj-kicks series. following acclaimed albums on ninja tune and tri angle, soundtrack and installation work, and remixes of the likes of bjork, matthew barnes aka forest swords has curated a 25-track compilation that draws a line between past inspirations and his current peers. like much of his own output, his dj-kicks skirts around pristine electronics and embraces more organic textures: 80s post punk (anna domino, dead can dance), classic 90s british electronica (orbital, mira calix), and smokey digi-dub (rhythm & sound), all rub up alongside some of the most forward-facing producers working today (demdike stare, laurel halo, fis). the compilation sifts through rhythms, shifting speeds and emotions: from pop icon neneh cherrys primal thudding to the zombified throb of exclusive forest swords track crow via deena abdelwaheeds clattering deconstructions to the euphoric two-step of djrum. its a collection of tracks that feels as restlessly curious and weighty as barnes own work. the double vinyl release includes a download code.
