hot on the heels of 2011s >schlungs<, the jetsetters have kept those buttons busily pushed, and are already here with their next chapter installment, featuring 8 new nuggets entitled >mungodelics<.

we have had a good run of 12 inches this year starting off with todd terjes >inspector norse< followed by bjørn torske (remixed by dj harvey and todd terje), lindstrøm (remixed by todd rundgren) and idjut boys great >one for kenny<. and now we continue with a great summer tune and one of our favorite tracks of the year, mungolian jetsets brand new >smells like gasoline<. already a todd terje favorite, the track will be featured on mungolian jetsets upcoming album >mungodelics< due 20th of august (todd terje has also edited the cd version of the album). on the b side we have 2 remixes of >we are the shining< from last years >schlungs< album by dan lissvik of studio fame as well as skatebaard.

mungolian jetset returns with a new 12 inch. this is a limited edition 12 inch, edition of 500 copies. the 12&#8243,,, will not be available on cd or digital, only on the good old vinyl that we all love so much. the 12 inch contains two tracks, moon jocks n prog rock and moonstruck. the 12 inch is a taster of the upcoming mungolian jetset album that is being completed now and will be released spring 2011.

this is the remix version of the sold-out 12 inch moon jocks n prog rocks and it features remixes from todd terje (2 remixes actually), montezuma as well as frisvold & lindbaek.
whether you find any truth in that or not, one thing is for sure, the new single by the printer-galactic troopers of mungol is one hell of a ride through the sonic wonders of discofied art involving one dudes rather merciless meeting with the (un)godly. it only happens occasionally, but it does happen. you have probably heard rumors, or read about it somewhere. maybe it even happened to you? with >moon jocks n prog rocks<, mungolian jetset have put it - literally - on the record: abductions by beatmongering disco aliens with prog-rock fetishes are on the rise, sometimes with hilariously fatal consequences, such as this tale of one unfortunate individuals meeting with the more funky forces of the cosmos.

this time we bring you mungolian jetsets interpretations of altz, japanese oddball producer of extraordinaire with a fu manchu beard to boot.

initially alfonso muskedunder was just the nickname for my newborn son alf, but the character soon started leading it s own life. interpreted for this single by a bunch of good people, such as deetron (jazzy-ish housey-ish), bullion (main vocal funky latin house mix... or not. it s vocal though), mungolian jetset (acid mambo deep in the forest, quattro formaggio pizza style) and the mysterious tangoterje (dub mambo especial), the icing on the cake finally came in the form of a fully animated music video courtesy of bendik kaltenborn and espen friberg. kind of tricky to explain exactly what goes on in that one, guess you have to see for yourself...
