moj001 delivers to you five tracks from little nobody which fascinatingly branch through diverse genres and influences which here, on the one record alone, manage to represent this artists wide variety as well as nicolas. judging from this artists extensive bio, since hes delved through techno, idm, hip hop, jazz, disco, electro, etc, the wide-spectrum approach becomes evident. like many artists from the 1990s, little nobody brings with him the healthy baggage of music with a message, polemic subjects, thoughts, ideas, humor, you name it. this comes as an aural statement: music has the power to challenge us, the way in which we perceive the world, and points out things which could potentially generate change for the better — if we only stopped and considered looking that much deeper. so this record couldnt come at a better time, a period in which we live where everything is disposable and a numbed societys music attempts to reach out for our consciousness — posing for us the opportunity to stop and think.

2010 has seen some juicy, off-the-wall techno/electronic vinyl goodies from the head space of little nobody, including the acclaimed >metropolis how?< and >robota< records - with remixes by the likes of james ruskin, justin berkovi, inigo kennedy, dj hi-shock, si begg, patrick pulsinger and steve stoll. but its the originator of the tracks who continues to push the perimeters, recently leading hi-shock, the prolific innovator behind the essential elektrax empire, to suggest that honestly, i think you are at least a couple of years ahead in your musical vision compared to other producers. little nobodys alter ego andrez bergen has also had his head buried this year in the creation of a hardboiled/noir/sci-fi novel called >tobacco-stained mountain goat<, and it was in the midst of this project - with these heady influences - that the get away from it all 12-inch project came to light. thus we got on board bas mooy (planet rhythm/audio assault) and dave tarrida (tresor/musick) to do the two scintillating re-takes here, which are downright brilliant. meanwhile little nobodys troll, on the flip-side, lives up to its claim: its hardboiled and devastatingly dirty electronica. all up, think streetwise, smack-your-glitch-up techno - dark, uber-bassy, dirty and pulsating - just the way we like it, with sardonic samples and a freestyle, postmodern attitude thats invigorating. matched up with the cool artwork by marcin markowski, this is an essential slab of wax for 4:00 am head-caving techno!

so when elektrax got together with bergens label if? to create a new vinyl release of remixes of the sublime little nobody track >metropolis how?< - as the debut showing for our brand new side-label gynoid - we couldnt think of two better practitioners to suit the moment... along with, of course, another canny remixer in the guise of elektraxs main-man, dj hi-shock.

little nobody Ð in fact australian expat andrez bergen, whos been based in tokyo these past 10 years Ð then decided to ask justin robertson (lionrock) to remix. while counting on robertsons experience rebooting bjšrk, happy mondays, fatboy slim, luke slater and felix da housecat, andrez is also a long-time fan and suspected the mix-master would have an absolute field day here Ð which he apparently did, giving the ingredients a good hearty shake and delivering a concoction that stunned everybody.
