joy dexon club is the new mini lp from the hands of repitch recordings’ co-founder ascion and it genuinely sums up his eclectic vision and diverse and restless music making philosophy.
the six tracks offered on this mini album follow a narrative and vital progression, translating vibrant, stormy feelings into frequencies that spoil us to carefully listen to it. fast techno with leading acidic patterns, intelligent harsh beats, dense psychedelic electro sounds building up atmospheric structures with an utterly personal approach. this is a must-have for electronic music admirers.

channel#9 collects five tracks of free flowing techno from italy s ascion. a talent who has graced labels like 3th and repitch, this ep balances floor fervour with subtle warm washes and colder echoes.

its not often you hear a techno record produced by a total of five people. when it happens, it’s usually to mark a passage and make a statement. sometimes it is a matter of celebrating a rita of passage, a shift into maturity and the embodiment of a new skin. this is what repitch is doing with the fourth and final installment in their “features” series, reuniting all the crew for the the final blast of what’s been a long and massive barrage of heavy techno. this is the collaboration to end them all: repitch founders ascion, d. carbone and shapenoise have shared the studio with longtime allies and. together, they explore a common ground made of pounding metallic percussions, gutwrenching bass and thick, furious grooves, with each producer bringing his own peculiar contributions to the table. this last installment marks the end of a process that accompanied repitch throughout its whole existence, thus enhancing the beginning of a new chapter in the label’s creative output.

ascion’s new solitary adventure on 3th records is the five tracks ep -public head-. imprinted in a folder that is designed by the producer himself, it starts with the electro-ish journey of “landescape” continuing towards the atmospheric broken-beat techno “public head”. on the flip side, “acido rosso” is a banging track in the manner of late 80’s acid-house that creates a strong anticipation for a classic techno cut, “xlight”. the ep is closing with the dramatic sci-fi attitude of “carnival”.

after three years, ascion and d.carbone return with *substructures*, their most experimental release to date on their label 3th. the a-side of this record holds two droney offbeat tracks, *ram expedients* and *lo-fi fields*, combining a rare/abstract and genuine mix of middle-eastern electronics, cyberpunk and uk warehouse techno. the b-side contains the tracks that are responsible for the nomenclature of this release: *substructures one/two*. being more oriented to genres such as idm and rave techno, they are characterized by powerful beats and cutting edge ambients and vocals. both tracks have been recorded during one of their live performances in london 2013.

zenith positions is a 4 track collaboration between modularz label owner developer and italian producer and repitch label owner ascion. the two producers worked apart in their studios with a similar concept and idea to create a special ep fusing together vintage synthesizers, retro futuristic ideas and funk influenced rhythms with a modern feel. the ep as gained some strong support from all the major dj talents worldwide.

features series start from here, the first of all, open repitch. the rebirth of the well-known fusion ascion and d. carbone. a unique sound suitable for the club and listening. irradial is a industrial-hybrid. walker smells like oldschool but totally redesigned. glare is an endless trip. mike parker version of walker takes you over, hypnotic. the name features come from the surrealistic artworks that will accompany us throughout the series. these mix the physical traits of the artists face with others, a face that looks like a distorted view of someone in our thoughts with features not well defined. to collect.

we meet a new project, cool, and damn techno. design concept and sounds that rather than being projected towards europe, appear to come from europe, more precisely from somewhere dark and cold in the north of the continent. but no! the minds that conceived the project are all italian and lie along a line connecting cities like palermo and naples, at least for the moment. because as you might expect from the country s brain drain ... the releases, starting with the first (which will appear in the catalog as 000), will be all vinyl.

italy hot hands duo of ascion and d.carbone join the tora ranks. two cuts switchout and panzer are full on attacks of bass and energy. tony rohr lends his hands while crafting a long full sided remix.

under the stewardship of alan fitzpatrick (drumcode, figure, bedrock), 8 sided dice is considered one of the most exciting techno labels to emerge in recent times. 9 hours later, amsterdam, gas mask and continue led carl cox, adam beyer, dubfire, john digweed, nic fanciulli and len faki to champion the label, catapulting 8 sided dice on to playlists across the globe. ..

spectrum recordings returns after the summer months with a fantastic deep dark two tracker to take us into those shorter nights of the year from italian duo ascion & davide carbone. the a side >shaved< is a stripped down dubby groover, with eerie vocal stabs and spacey edits. this has a seriously tripped out vibe, which is perfect for the after hours, but still with more then enough punch to work at peak time, with some layered percussion or effects. the flip side >spectral town< is a minimal funky track, superbly produced and once again perfect for the after hours. a very cool and classy record from a label stamping its mark on the scene, and still only in its first year of releasing music. look out for future releases from ramon tapia, gui boratto and alan fitzpatrick. big things to come!

the new york producer and dj, alexi delano, can not miss this excellent template. in his remix of the mentioned track he whispers it the required dryness in, and so it becomes afterhour-compatible ... and it continues to roll… brian sanhaji and his interpretation of this symbiosis: the use of his characteristic style of the born frankfurte in his remix gives the all-rounder track the old well-known gloomy and beloved hardness, but does not loses the melodic nature out of sight. the whole thing will become a new symbiosis ... and it continues to roll ...
