re-issue of the 1978 dub classic from errol brown & the revolutionaries. dub like it used to be from the high note and gay feet labels. a selection of rocking rhythms from the revolutionaries masterminded by jamaica’s finest female record producer, mrs sonia pottinger, and mixed by duke reid’s nephew, errol brown, chief engineer at the legendary treasure isle studio.

the 70s saw a growing interest in so called dub versions, an approach based on deforming, stripping and rebuilding the original tune and came known as dub music. king tubby along with other dub wizards such as, lee perry & prince jammy, were responsible for this exciting new dimension to jamaican music. however, most of these dub albums were pressed in very small quantities and disappeared quickly. one of those albums is dub expression by errol brown and the revolutionaries. no gimmicks on this one, he uses simple echo and delay, a few vocals sliding in and out, separate instruments floating on top, with respect to the melody of the tunes. a mixture of dub and instrumentals. enjoy these super tracks!

longtime unavailable classic from 1978 re-issued in the original artwork and 180 gram heavy weight vinyl. all re-mastered music and additonal leaflet with liner notes. guerrilla dub was recorded by musicians of the two leading studio & backing bands at the time, the aggrovators and the revolutionaries, for producer bunny lee. all tracks mixed by ossie hibbert at king tubby s studio!

wiederveröffentlichung dieses seltenen und superben dub-albums von 1979 als 180 gramm lp-vinyl, remastered und mit ausführlichen linernotes. “burning dub” wurde in folgender besetzung eingespielt: sly dunbar (drums), robbie shakespeare (bass), radcliffe “dougie” bryan (lead-gitarre), bertram “ranchie” mclean (rhythmus-gitarre), ansel collins (keyboards), gladstone anderson (piano), noel “scully” simms (percussion) und der bläsersektion bestehend aus tommy mccook und don d. junior. der longplayer wurde im channel one studio aufgenommen, mit lancelot -maxie- mckenzie am mischpult - als produzent fungierte junior englisch.

when the gaming laws changed in jamaica in 1970, the hookim brothers joseph joe joe and ernest, who ran jukebox and one armed bandit distribution, decided it was time to expand their empire. they would build their own recording studio in the heart of kingstons ghetto land on maxfield avenue. the name would become legendary in the reggae world - >channel 1 studios< was born. this set of classic unreleased dubs comes from the in-house session band the revolutionaries , produced by the great bunny striker lee.
