one time proprietor of the infamous atlas records shop in soho, london over a decade ago, pete herbert divides his time these days either behind the wheels of steel at clubs and parties around europe or in the studio working solo or with friends on their various musical projectsàhe is found regularly behind the decks at places such as fabric,mondos, goa, cafe capitol playing out an unexpected mix of balearic leftfield disco/house/italo/dub/funk and beyond!! building up a dj reputation in parisian underground circles, doing parties with jef k, chloe, alexkid and ivan smagghe, working the dancefloor but also developing his skills in the studio, tim paris had his first breakthrough with the remix of a rock tune called >future now< that became one of the biggest underground tunes of 2004. from there tim paris didn t stop but continued to release quality tracks and remixes. the two come together as >challenge<, on tim s imprint marketing music, the follow up to their 2008 release together on kompakt >zimmer<. just a few chords into the track, and its obvious to hear - the broken clock e.p. has been too long coming... >broken clock< - featuring homemade guitar riffs by none-other than mr. paris himself...! >wind up< follows with its more organic appeal, featuring some wicked synths... and finally, >wind up genius of time remix< will suit your palate indefinitely. genius of time, aka >cloud< from gothenburg, sweden... pushes the hands of father time to the reference point in early house, the vocals are pushed to the front to build us up into a hazy groove, that you wish could go on forever...

during lockdown times earlier this spring two guys (behind bazovoe techno community and the label) realized that many producers appeared to have plenty of free time to spend it on music. in the certain circumstances an idea came to their heads to start a small challenge - make a track in one day - among our community of artists and producers in st. petersburg and russia. starting it just for fun they even couldn t imagine that the overall results would be so much above expectations! so as a result of this challenge during a month more than 20 artists from around russia took part in it sending over tracks they made per one day in isolation. all tracks were immediately uploaded to the label s soundcloud and bandcamp on an every-week base with the reason to support producers in such a way - giving those of them whose music was purchased all the money from sales directly. and already by the end of this challenge it was decided to make a vinyl release with the best tracks submitted. as a result here is the 6 tracker va with the best representatives of our community from around russia that were connected during this period!

if the independently-pressed record made the galaxy of recorded music that much larger, the burgeoning home studio became the black hole from which little escaped. flowering in the mid-to-late ‘70s, affordable high-quality tape recorders, synthesizers, and simple drum machines permitted the aspiring artist to never leave his home, never request the assistance of another human being. in the world of american black music, name artists such as sly stone, timmythomas, and shuggie otis had experimented with rudimentary electronic soul with a modicum of success, but on record what remains is scant. this collection presents the unheard underground of the self-produced, often solo, electronic soul world of the ‘70s and early 80s, offering a view into an ocean of sound that is in turn peaceful, bizarre, funky, and often humbly ahead of its time. available as a high quality 180 gram double lp and features arial photography by nasa astronaut donald pettit.

label boss solomun delivers the soulful summernight jam -see you everyday alone-, that has a captivating bassline and a groove that makes you sweat. epic strings and sounds of thunder and rain are leading into deep breakdowns with a dark touch. although the track has a immediate effect the dancefloor, it will linger on in your head for a long time. stimmings contribution to this ep is -challenge the air- featuring the soft vocal and bass of david stoltzenberg. its a very atmospheric and intimate track. layered guitars and baselines combined with stimmings signature groove account for a warm organic mood. the echoing vocal phrases underline the floating structure which gives a hypnotic touch. although the track features a typical stimming sound and has enough power to entertain the dancefloor, its is definitely one of stimmings more personal and emotive works

the air texture series asks two producers/ performers to select a double cd worth of unreleased music. the only guidance is the music should not be main floor bangers, other than that we get out of the way, allowing them autonomy over their selection. this time steffi and martyn were asked to step up. exciting, since as residents at berghain/panorama bar - two of the most important dancefloors in the worldÉ how would two such respected artists approach our experimental ethos. bringing together contributions from veteran producers such as total science, as one (kirk degiorgio) and stingray, as well as contemporaries actress, vivek and shed, the artists explain in a press release that the selected tracks are all unique interpretations of a leftfield, non linear aesthetic. 26 total tracks including the above mentioned, answer code request, shed, dbridge, appleblim, faltydl, mosca, kink, and steffi and martyn as well.
