you cross my path is the 10th charlatans album and was recorded in los angeles, ireland and the bands own studio, big mushroom, in cheshire. produced by the charlatans and long time collaborator james spencer, and mixed by alan moulder. the album was originally made available, in its entirety, as a free download from radio station xfms website. throughout the album you can hear the influence of krautrock and the new wave grooves of the young simple minds and new order. standouts are oh! vanity which chugs along like neu! doing a cover of booker ts time is tight and bad days with its skittish disco hi hats, striding bass and electropop synth motif.
