formed in 2007 by jakob seidensticker, florian schirmacher and henrik raabe, wareika was accidentally gathered on stage for the first time at hamburgs mythical mojo club. since then, the german trio has built a very singular sound signature after a decade of playing together. revealing the diverse influences and musical educations from all three individuals, the bands discography has been built over a solid live experience. being academically trained in jazz and classical but also self taught through electronic music, jakob, florian and henrik are able to sing, play guitars, drum machines, pianos, synthesizers, bass, percussions and way more

>music is the silence between the notes.< the french composer claude debussy once said. the german trio wareika, consisting of florian schirmacher, henrik raabe and jakob seidensticker, love the silence between their notes, even if their music is often fully loaded with many detailed sounds, rhythms, melodies and intercultural sound links.

wareika steps up for the amphias 12th vinyl chapter. the german trio walks off the beaten techno trail, applying just enough pressure on the bassline pedal to envelope your attention on the sinusoidal theme from break new sol, revealing at the end a rewarding guitar solo, hidden all this time under the crisp percussions. on a train again completes side a, with its industrial ambient modulations steadily stabbed by the derailed cadence.
sit reinterprets wareika on side b: a more dancefloor oriented take, with just a few breaks from the devilish rhythm, enough to give the crowd some time to breathe into the tracks odd atmosphere. wareika s playful harmony makes a great addition to amphias musical path.

in the great tradition of count ossie, four new grounation furies - hypnotic, thunderous, urgent, mystical - with dubwise repeta, funde and bass drums embedding the light of saba veterans gorgeous trombone classicism.
the opener is a rocking kumina rhythm, with ring-the-alarm metal percussion and exhortatory brass, free the people swirls some apocalyptic reasoning into the foggy, thumping mix. universe in crisis is another emergency call, chuffing headlong down the grooves ... before the beautiful, anthemic chant takes a step back from the fire, closing with a sense of thankful, spiritual reconciliation, the expert drumming and lyrical bone-work in full effect.

mid march will see wareika release the magic number lp via visionquest, comprising nine original compositions from the trio. across the magic number lp wareika carve out a coherent yet meandrous collection of tracks to form the project, all encompassing the trios unique and forward thinking style. title tracks the magic number part one and two radiantly display the groups musicality and production prowess via melodious piano progressions and jazz-tinged bass, while psychedelia infused cuts like song of wareika, bolero and my guitar show a further distinctive charm in their output. things do look to the dance floor across the album as well with compositions like finding essence, protect me from what i want and planet jason laying down intricately programmed 4/4 rhythms, hypnotic synth works and rumbling bass drones throughout, brilliantly showcasing wareikas diverse and beguiling production style.
