ikebe shakedown is back! “supermoon” is the first single from their upcoming album “the way home” (out worldwide october 20). they started with us and we are proud to release their fourth album as they continue to grow and evolve into an instrumental force to be reckoned with! “supermoon” sets the tone for a fantastic full-length.

ikebe shakedowns debut release is as heavy as an angry herd of elephants! recorded at dunham studios in brooklyn with the help of members of the budos band, these tracks are rough and tough to be sure and offer a variety of different sounds from the band. ikebe seamlessly blends the raw emotion and passion of 70s african funk with the danceable horns and rhythms of american soul music! bio: ikebe shakedown is brooklyn-based, eight-piece instrumental juggernaut that incorporates the sounds of 60s and 70s african funk and american soul music for a totally fresh sound. featuring dynamic horns backed by a hard-hitting rhythm section, ikebe shakedown (pronounced ee-kay-bay) will get you out of your seat and onto the dance floor! with obvious influences from legendary groups such as the j.b.s and the meters, ikebe shakedown is also looking to make their own mark on the brooklyn scene in the vein of more contemporary groups like the budos band, antibalas, and the menahan street band.

ltd warehouse found! at night was originally released by shakedown in 2002. later on, acts like alan braxe and mousse t. produced remixes. the chab deep mix was a digital- only release via panorama records in 2008. a friend of 200 heard the song at a hawaiian sail rave and posted it on facebook. 200 records fell in love with the track and decided to release a vinyl version. this release also contains the epic martin buttrich dub mix which was originally also released in 2008.

on the heels of *the beast / road song* 7 inch release, we revisit ikebe shakedowns back catalog and tap renowned remixer and house producer extraordinaire brennan green to do a proper remix of *tujunga* which flew off the shelves and sold out as a 7 inch single prior to ikebes self-titled debut album release in 2011.
